Hi all,

I turned my HDR1000S tonight and found that I could not change channels, upon pressing a digit the number failed to appear on the screen. Well, that's not quite true as it did but, after a very long delay.

It didn't matter which remote I used, the original and, both my Universal Remote controls failed to operate the device.

I pulled the power from the HDR and recconected after about 45 minutes and, all is now well

Has anyone else suffered from this? Is there a reset sequence that I could have employed to save this 45 minute downtime?

Thanks

John

1) Yes, lots of users, it has been reported to Freesat/Humax.
2) No.

I did try a search but the search strings I used came up with so many hits that I couldn't see the wood for the trees.

What search did you use?

In several occaisions the unit will respond to the standby button - much better than pulling the power on hard disk writes if you can help it. But also try the magic 2580.

My box just joined the list of those doing this, 2nd day in a row.

Mine did it once after initiating dozens of deletes all at once. Appeared locked out for about 5 mins, not just the remote the buttons on the unit. I pushed the channel up button, it changed channels at the same time as the remote started working again.

My one is now playing a recording and does not seem to respond to the remote control

I noted earlier navigating the menus had quite a lag so I would guess one of the background processes is playing up?

EDIT:
It has just rebooted itself coming up with the Humax Freetime Logo then nothing.

The standby LED is now on and it is responding to the power key.

It is about time someone made a product that actually worked properly...

As I mentioned in the other thread, I think you should take it back and get it replaced as it seems you have just been unlucky and have a faulty box.

Indeed, it could be but as it was playing back okay and was recording okay (while not responding to the remote) for over 30 minutes I would more likely suspect that one of the other tasks / threads the unit runs in background were the cause.

I was thinking of unplugging the lan cable as the web based content is of little value to me and looking at other threads if there are / were data access issue on the web perhaps these are upsetting correct operation.
