I don't mind 3 HG's nominated, particularly if they're starting with a record number of HG's (20?) this year. Perhaps a few weeks of double evictions until a reset in week 3 or 4? They can hardly continue with it through to the F4 though. I wonder if the MVP will be able to save a nominee, further rewarding good game play?

I don't like public voting for anything, but I suppose needs must and revenue is revenue. However, this MVP malarkey will at least militate against do nothing, uncompetitive floaters; the Jenn and Ashley types, which is no bad thing IMO. A social floater will have to be very good indeed this season, once the obvious athletic types have been removed.

I predict an awful lot of scrambling right from the start......

The MVP is not to reward good gameplay at all though, the fact that the first vote begins before the first episode proves that. It's to keep the favourites in as long as possible.. at least its being done openly this year I suppose.

Imagine if it was done in 11 or 13? They'd never get Jeff out.

Dan was popular enough last year and not particularly good looking (IMO), so there's hope for real gamers. But you're probably right and that's why I dislike public voting. This year's "Big Jeff" could go a long way.......

lol, their new way to keep the Frank types in to the end. Don't know why they bother calling it a game. It's as scripted as Coronation Street.

This MVP thing just screams disaster really. I can't see it not being dominated by the same player week in, week out, which would really suck.

I'm a bit apprehensive about the news atm. I think I like the 3 housemates going up. But I'm a bit concerned that it doesn't say HoH will nominate 3. It says contestants nominate 3. Hopefully just bad wording, and some wierd stuff doesn't happen their.

I'd like if the MVP were to actually work. But we know the public, and the best players rarely are favourites, so probably not gonna get this award. Hopefully its not to much of an advantage whatever it is.

But at least they are trying to do something new, and freshen it up!!!

i love it! sounds fantastic.
but then again what sounds good on paper doesn't always play out in the best way so i'm intrigued to see how it plays out.

sounds like something i've been trying to get on the show for awhile but i wanted it to be the most entertaining and for there to be limitations so the same person couldn't win back to back.
hopefully there is some sort of limitation on the same person winning consecutive weeks.

and hopefully the 3 thing will somehow stop single alliances from dominating, not sure how yet but i'm on blind faith.

I don't mind the MVP thing, but pretty silly to vote for the first one solely on the bios and cheesy interviews.

This MVP screams a failure written all over it IMO. It'll become very boring very fast as america will probable just end up giving it to the same person each & every week

They may have an hoh-type rule for MVP - the same person can't win two weeks in a row.

i'd hope they're not stupid enough to put something like that in without understanding such possibility.
i'd be mouth open shocked if they allowed it so one person could win every single week.

I'm loving the idea of 3 nominated houseguests though.. little bit of a changerupper is always welcome for me!

mvp is generally a sports related term that means "most valuable player".

it would often go to someone who in the game had the greatest impact or played a crucial role but in a more subtle way, etc.

I was thinking, maybe they will highlight three or so players every week who made a significant impact and let the public chose from them for MVP?

I think it would be much easier for the producers to manipulate who gets an advantage, but at the very least if the housemates know that they NEED to do something to even be considered, they might actually make a move to even be in the running.
