Humax Files On PC
I have successfully copied files recorded on my Humax Fox T2 to a FAT32 formatted external hard drive and I can read them successfully under Windows Explorer on my PC.
However each recorded program comprises 4 files, one a .hmt files, one .nts, one .thm and one the largest file a .ts file. What software do I need on PC to either play these files or perhaps convert them to .avi format? Thanks |

You can then also use any .mpeg to .avi convertor. You'll only be able to do this with SD files, HD will be encrypted and too big to copy for FAT32. |

Thanks Some players can play the .ts file directly, if not try renaming it to mpg, or avi and see if that works. If not your'll need to use a conversion program of which there are many. I use WinX video converter, but many others will do job just as we'll. |

There is a work around for getting shot of the encryption on HD recordings should you need it.
Do a search for Foxsat Media and File sharing bundle and follow the link to the AVForum as it's more informative than the DS one below. |

You only need the .ts file.
Use videoredo to save as an .mpeg and you'll be able to play them on VLC player. I'm confused how a question about the T2 box has ended up in the Fresat forum! Cheers, David. |
