I loved The Wizard but then I'm a massive Nintendo fan (also big fan of Fred Savage due to The Wonder Years)
I have it on dvd but have to play it on my laptop because it is region 1.
This thread typifies everything that's bad about DS...a long boring pointless list,MOST films are rarely on because the subscribers have most of the backlog.

Bit cheesy, Bootle. But such a great movie. I have on VHS not sure if it ever got released, on DVD properly. Know you could get it on copies only for a long time.

Tender Mercies with an Oscar winning performance from Robert Duvall. I've never seen the film - and I haven't seen it on the TV schedules(terrestrial or otherwise).

Sling Blade - won an Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay for Billy Bob Thornton. I don't know if it's ever been on terrestrial TV or otherwise.
The Apostle - with Robert Duvall again. I think I remember watching this sometime in the early 2000s on Sky Movies.
Blue Sky - with an Oscar winning performance from Jessica Lange. I do think I watched a few years ago on TCM. Seems rarely screened.
The Volunteers - with John Candy and Tom Hanks. I saw this late night on ITV back in the 1990s.

Tender Mercies has been on Sony Movies I think recently.
Slingblade was on Channel 4 some years ago.
The Apostle was on either BBC or Channel 4 (don't remember which) as well.

Original Assault On Precinct 13 was shown on either Channel 4 or BBC 2 sometime in the 2000s.
Terminator does pop on BBC 2 ever now and again(I re-watched it a few years ago on there).
Halloween was shown on BBC 2 a few years ago - on successive nights which included the sequels.
Poltergeist was shown only a few years ago on BBC 1 late at night.
Here's one that probably hasn't been shown on TV in awhile - George Lucas' masterpiece - Howard The Duck!
The last time I saw that was around Xmas time 1994(I think) late night on BBC 1. That film is terrible. On a George Lucas related note - I know that American Graffiti gets shown on TV nowadays(it was on ITV 1 and now Film 4 has the rights to it) - but what about the sequel More American Graffiti. I have never seen that on the TV schedules.

I can't remember seeing the John Frankenheimer thriller Black Sunday starring Robert Shaw on TV. Maybe it's because of the subject matter - a terrorist attack on the Superbowl.
In a similar vein, Two Minute Warning is another one that seems to have vanished.

I remember it late on BBC 1 about 2003, not sure it's been on since.
Do the Right Thing. Only ever seen it once when it was on TV and that was yonks ago.
First class work from Spike Lee & definitely in my Top 20 if not top 10 films of all time.

That was one of those films that ITV use to show in the middle of the night but never nationally,depend what region you was in and HTV use to show loads of good ones.
Two Minute Warning seems to be those 70's disaster films that never get shown no more like Juggernaut,Rollercoaster and The Big Bus

I guess a lot of this is because the whole landscape of TV has changed dramatically since the 70's and 80's where we had only 4 channels, so if a film was not shown on TV, it was not shown on TV.
But now the question is what is TV...satellite, cable, freeview, internet channels, download etc.
I don't think you can limit it anymore to the few remaining terrestial channels, you have to consider all forms of TV.
THerefore, most films are shown somewhere. I can think of very few films that are NEVER shown. And even in these rare cases they are available somewhere on some format.
