I have the apostle on DVD . It's in a Robert de Niro collection
That's strange - as he's not in it. I assume you mean the Robert Duvall collection?

Do the Right Thing. Only ever seen it once when it was on TV and that was yonks ago. First class work from Spike Lee & definitely in my Top 20 if not top 10 films of all time.

Also Jean de Florette & Manon des Sources.
Do The Right Thing was on Film 4 - although it must have been 2006 or somewhere along those lines. I did see it last year on Sky Movies. You're right - it's a great film - probably Spike Lee's best film.

Jean de Florette and Manon des Sources was last shown around 2004 on really late night Channel 4 - on successive nights. You're right - I don't think it's been shown anywhere since then. I'm guessing Channel 4 still have the rights. Strange that it hasn't been up on Film 4.

Just a few more that I might add :-

Fanny and Alexander. I know a few years ago, Film 4 had a Ingmar Bergman season a short while - that was about a year after the re-release of The Seventh Seal. I think 2007 or 2008. Fanny and Alexander wasn't shown. They showed about every film of his(and a about two years before that Sawdust and Tinsel was on BBC 4). When was the last time that was on UK TV. It's lucky I saw it at the Curzon Renoir in 2007. Plus, I have the DVD. I must re-watch it.

Leon the Professional. I have never actually seen the film. I know The Fifth Element has been on Channel 4 and I think on Film 4. I'm guessing that it might pop up on Film 4. I really want see it.

Fred and Ginger. From Fellini. I know a few of his films have been up on BBC 4 in the mid 2000s(I think I saw Roma in the schedules) - and La Dolce Vita has been on Sky Movies(mid 2000s again) - but I haven't seen this film in the schedules.

Prospero's Books. A few Greenaway films show up on Film 4 every now and again(The Cook, the Thief, his Wife and her Lover, The Pillow Book, A Belly of an Architect, Drowning By Numbers) - but I have never seen this - so far anyway. It might turn up. When was the last time it was shown?

Nightwatching. Another Greenaway film. Has it every been shown on UK TV? I suppose it would be something that Film 4 or BBC 4 would show.

Why? Robert De Niro isn't in The Apostle.

Okay. Thanks for sharing that. Looks like Greenaway can't make it to terrestrial TV nowadays.

The Twilight Zone - the 1983 film. I think Spielberg, George Miller and John Landis directed separate segments. I've never seen it. It's famous for the infamous helicopter accident which killed Vic Morrow and two other actors. I'm guessing that it's a bit of a niche film. I've never seen it on the schedules - although, I'm thinking that SyFy or TCM might show it. Does anyone know the last time it was on UK TV?
