I'm finally getting a little bored of the same old MW3.
BUT I don't have any extra maps other than Terminal. So would you suggest I download the map packs for MW3 or go out and buy the latest installment?

I'm not bored of the actual game, just feel I need different maps and wasn't sure which option to opt for.

Keeping in mind that I never played Black Ops 1, I've only ever played the Modern Warfares.
I had a quick look at a multplayer website for black ops 2, and it seemed there is no "support class" in black ops?

If this is true it's a good reason to stick with MW3. I like the Assault class on dome when I use my SMG class and can run around quite quickly in a fast paced game.
But I mainly use an Assault Rifle class with a heavy launcher to take down choppers using a support streak.

I don't finish bottom after a game but I don't do well getting streaks together, so I have a feeling opting for Black Ops 2 will leave me frustrated at not earning rewards.

Black ops 2 has a 'pick 10' system so now classes are more customisable then ever. A fast paced smg class for example would be easy to set up.

Kill streaks are easy to achieve in Black ops 2 in objective based games if set up correctly.UAV, Care package, Gaurdian for example would be easy to achieve in domination as you would only need a couple of caps and a kill or 2 before you can set up a UAV which would most probably get you enough for a CP,then in turn would get you enough for the gaurdian.

You could also use hardline to help you out aswell as engineer to roll care packages for added effectivness.Taking down Kill streaks with your launcher is also another easy way to earn points towards a KS.

thats a hard one

they are completely different, imo Blops2 is way better ....pick 10 is awesome
but in contrast to what he4rt says i find kill streaks( point streaks ) are harder to get

personally id say grab the new 1 but id advise to rent it or borrow it from someone to try out 1st

on mw3 after 5 kills i'd have my care package and predator missile, on black ops 2 you need 5 kills just for a spy plane. gun game is fun on black ops 2 but i would suggest getting black ops 1, some great maps and the guns don't take a whole clip to kill someone. also easy to earn killstreaks.

when MW3 was released i hated it....really did. i traded it within days and went back to black ops 1 for another year. Great excitement for BO2. Kept persevering with it, prestiged once and was on way to no.2. however, I just couldnt live with how small the maps were. they were really crap. I play S&D all the time and it felt like you were within one sprint of being in centre of map and a choke point. I traded it and took a gamble on MW3 again (actually rented it) and you know what??.....Its actually really good. Not sure if it was patched or just simply feels better compared to BO2, but I now love it.

I'm waiting to see if they put the maps up for half price or something, as dont feel like spending full whack on them, when they are old now. I might wait forever though.

Maybe rent or borrow BO2, but imo, it isnt very good.

I'll be buying the new maps as they can't be any worse than the 1st batch. Does anyone on here like me play chaos moshpit more than normal multiplayer?

If you go with the maps for MW3 only get the last pack as they were the best out of the lot, the rest were all a bit meh tbh

As for Blops 2, just don't bother

After reading some more online I was swaying more towards maps for MW3. Reading some comments here suggests that could be the correct decision.

I was reading the desciption of each map pack, and the 4th did sound the most interesting.
Am I right in thinking the 3rd pack would be a waste of money if I don't play special ops or face off? There was no mention of multiplayer maps for normal games.

I only really play hardcore domination, and play them casual play lists when I prestige until I level up a bit.

Yes there are NO multiplayer maps in DLC3.

Parrish is a good map from DLC4.

There is your answer then.

Black Ops 2 does not have Hardcore Dominations, unfortunately. It also has split it into two rounds, which I dislike, so I no longer play it, having played it almost exclusively previously.

Be aware that if you buy only select map packs your matchmaking pool will be very limited, the largest pool is those with all map packs.

Really!? The only thing I don't like about MW3 is the lack of hardcore modes. I used to love sabotage on MW2 but now I'm so used to the few bullets it takes to kill someone I simply cannot play sabotage. I tried it tonight, played about 6 games and finished bottom every time. Lots of "assists" though!!

I don't understand why there isn't a hardcore mode for more game types.

There's a double answer then!

No Sabotage in any mode in Black Ops 2.

I'd go for the MW3 maps.

BO2 is a fun game & I like the changes they made to the customization as well as some of the other gameplay tweaks & improvements. However the maps were some of the worst ever COD maps & the lag compensation was atrocious which is why I ultimately stopped playing it.
