Wow that is one well speced piece of kit , it is so much more than just a disc player . You probably need a reference standard TV and sound amp to go with it .If you get one report back on here I would love to know how it pans out .

Oppos are lovely. I have supplied and installed a few now and they are my favourite brand of player. The only thing I have used which rivals (and I would suggest betters) it for picture quality is the £1000 Arcam BD-P100. However, the Arcam has lousy reliability and doesn't have 1/4 of the Oppos other features.

If you are going to make full use of all the Oppo features then of course it's worth it. But if you're just planning on using it as a BD player and want the best picture then go for the 103 instead.

Whatever you plan, if you are thinking of investing this kind of money then a demo is essential IMO. I see no point in putting a player of this caliber in front of an AV amp that can't communicate the difference in sound quality between s CD on a Blu-ray player or the same disc on a decent CD player. The rest of your kit has to be up to scratch otherwise it's a waste of money. You'd be better off getting the 103 and spending the balance on having your system set up and calibrated properly. That would make a massive difference.
