Locked iPhone 5/Sim Card Question.

Just a quick question, my mum has got an iPhone 5 locked to EE but what we want to know is if a T-Mobile sim card will work in it and will T-Mobile happily hand out nano sims for existing contracts?

I went into town yesterday but got in a little too late and EE was closed and trying to get through to T-Mobile customer services is time-consuming and headache inducing. So any help is appreciated

I would have thought so. EE is just the 4G network belonging to the same network family as Orange and T-Mobile.

I have got two Orange locked phones (not an iPhone though, wouldn't dare touch them) and both of them will accept a T-Mobile sim now since the merge.

But what I can't work out is why you would want to do this? Surely she got a new sim card which will be 4G enabled when she bought the phone.
