Are the Golden Globe awards shown live on UK tv tonight?

Nope, other than Red Carpet on E tonight and highlights on 5USA 10pm tomorrow. So many Brits involved I thought someone might have shown it live.

they were last year and E! had a lot of technical problems, it's a shame they've just given up instead of trying to improve. Now 5 USA have the rights and are only showing the highlights, just like they did with the Emmys

Thankfully Sky still have the rights to the Oscars, and I doubt they'll give them up, so we'll at least get them live.

E!'s coverage last year was nothing short of shambolic, but it was better than nothing. Shame it's not on live anywhere.

Given 5 USA stops at midnight so not much use. They sell off the overnight space to either shopping or one of the babe channels on Freeview so it ends at midnight. Just goes blank on satellite o don't know if they could continue even if they wanted to.

Presume no one interested in live overage.

Surprised they don't put it on something like Sky Arts as live rights to the UK given timing is crap for viewers here must be peanuts.

Well I have found something. The German TV station prosieben will be broadcasting the entire ceremony live.

Prosieben is available via satelite (at 19°, not 28.2° normally used in the UK), although this is only useful for people who can receive it.

I did find an online live stream for prosieben so that might be all you need to watch the golden globes live.

That site has a lot of popups and wants you to install all kinds of plugins. Just close them all and ignore them, the stream appears to work as long as you can use flash.

That is the best I could find, I hope this helps.

Money must be tight if no-one is picking it up. Channel 5 seem to be the ones that pick up the other channel scraps first Big Brother then American Idol and now The Golden Globes on delay.

Would be good to have had them live will have to rely on my stream not getting shut down then.

If you go on E there is coverage from the carpet, the show will start at 1am on 14th January 2013 UK time.

It is live so they cannot dub it that quickly. I suspect there may be a few voiceovers, but they may just let it play as it is.

We will know more when the program starts.

Certainly better than nothing.
