Just got this and am very impressed with picture and sound quality. Only very minor criticism is the hard copy booklet which is lacking in detail. Haven't connected it to wifi so can't access emanual.

Would be grateful for some advice on setup. I am running the new HD TV with a SD PVR for now. The two are connected via scart and the external aerial is connected to the PVR directly and then through to the HDTV via RF cable. The picture on the TV HD channels is impressive but so also is the picture coming through from recordings on the PVR.

I suspect though that I might not be using the HDTV to best advantage - don't know about HDMI cables etc ! Does it matter that the external aerial is plugged into the PVR first? Can someone advise me, please, on the optimum connection setup between HDTV and SDPVR. Thanks.

The only problem running the aerial via the PVR is if the PVR has a low power standby mode. In that instance putting the PVR into standby could switch off the RF amplifier in the PVR that splits the signal between the RF out socket and the PVR's tuners. If that happens you won't get any signal passed on to the TV. But apart from that if it is working properly it will have zero effect.

If the PVR has HDMI then theoretically that should be better than SCART. However in practice you may struggle to see any difference. One thing HDMI may do is allow the PVR to upscale SD material to HD resolution instead of the TV. This might make a difference if the TV is really crap at this. The TV will be upscaling the SCART signals to display the pictures full screen so that will tell you how good it is.

If the PVR does not have HDMI then SCART is as good as it is going to get. Presumably you have the SCART set to RGB video mode as that should give the best picture quality via SCART?
