Just got a Seagate 2TB external HD up and running.

Do you guys partition it or leave as is? I have Paragon Partition Manager on my pc if that's any good?

Depends on what you want to store on it. I like to partition drives to make things more organised, but it's really down to personal preference.

Also, if you're connecting the drive to other devices (consoles, media players, etc.) they might have a limit, so that is one thing to bear in mind.

And if you have Vista or above, you can use the built-in Disk Management to partition the drive.

It will be just to save media files instead of burning them to disc and having 100's of discs everywhere.

I just wondered if it would be sensible to partition to make maintenance easier (ie defrag a smaller file) or repair if any files were infected, corrupt, etc.

I think I'll just leave it as is. Thanks for the reply though.

Just create a good directory structure so you can find your files and leave the partition out, I do this with my 3TB external and internal drives; works for me.
