Test Drive Unlimited 2
This thread didn't quite take-off in the Playstation forum so I'm trying it again here.
It's on PS3, Xbox 360 & PC. Anyone else have it and what are your thoughts? |

Horrible game the handling is appauling on it.
However the scenery is pretty good but that's about all i'm afraid. |

I actually rather like TDU2.
I like the genuinely open-world feel of it. I wish somebody would take the concept a step further by creating a game similar to TDU2 but with more diverse objectives rather than just "go here and race" etc. The missions where you have to find places, take photo's, give people lifts and follow people are a fairly good example of what I'd like to see more of. The missus enjoys it because she's not particularly good at "circuit-racer" type games but she does like tootling around, searching for things, giving people lifts and finding landmarks etc. The Ariel Atom in TDU2 is the most insane vehicle in any game I've ever played too!

TDU 2 was very disappointing for me, I love the concept and design of the game but the terrible physics and handling model really drag it down to below average status for even last gen standards. I prefer the original TDU as it simply feels better to play despite missing some of the newer features like off-road racing and dynamic weather. Forza Horizon is similar to TDU but more streamlined and nowhere near as big but it's infinitely more polished and playable where it counts. Simialr to TDU there is heavy emphasis on the car models themselves, huge roster and more advanced customisation features. The physics are taken from a top of the line sim so that speaks for itself. What it lacks though is the sheer variety and epicness of TDU 2 and what some people find most appealing about the game and will even ignore their misgivings in order to enjoy the bigger picture. I really hope Horizon 2 takes cues from TDU since it's pretty much a dead franchise now and there's a lot to love about the series. |

I've recently been considering buying it so I could see if I was wrong about that but, for me, not working with a wheel is a complete deal-breaker. |

I enjoyed it, okay a bit buggy at times, but I loved checking out peoples customisation, and I liked improving my homes and owning all these cars and just feeling like I was living the life, it's a mini escape from reality

Apparently you get a trophy for owning every purchasable car. That'll take a while... |

Its okay for me. The casino doesn't really work, it won't let me play games in some of the rooms no matter what I do and the radio is damn annoying! But other than that, I think its quite cool, the scenery is lovely.

Have they not fixed it yet?
Reason i stopped playing was serious server issues and then about a month after launch of the game, my save became corrupt

Oddly enough TDU2 received some DLC on 360 today, albeit a Title Update masquerading in disguise (cheaper for the dev). It says it enhances force feedback and something to do with stickers..
Still it's interesting that they're still supporting it. |

Hmm, no DLC on PS3 yet but keeping an eye out.
They have closed the TDU2 forums for quite a while now and it still hasn't been restored. I'm trying to contact the makers (Atari) and ask them if they are releasing a DLC3 or not - they've said a few times it has been in development for a while but surely it wouldn't take this long? Depends how long they took in developing DLC2. On the other hand, the motorbike helps you get into some tricky spots, like the port/harbor but it's a tad impossible to get on those boats. Has anyone done all 100 of those instant challenges? |

Anyone taken their cars/bikes to unusual places (places that aren't usually accessible or are difficult to access)?
