Xbox 360's a go-go
Neil C

Hi

I've got an Xbox 360 and an an Xbox Gold subscription. I'm currently on a Sky Go monthly ticket and would like to watch sky in my bedroom.

My options are as far as I can tell:

1.Take the XBOX into the bedroom and setup a wireless network while watching Sky in the lounge using Apple TV

2. Buy a pre-owned xbox and use that an a network extender.

Has anyone got any advice?

Many thanks in advance.

I guess you do not have a Wireless Router for your internet.

A 3rd option would be to buy a set of Homeplugs to get your internet connection into your bedroom via the electrical wiring.

Are you sure you can use this Sky Go ticket on more than one device?

I do have a wireless router and a powerline adaptor.

As far as I know the sky go ticket is for 2 devices only.

What exactly are you asking? Have you got a newer Xbox that's capable of wireless? If so, it's just a case of taking it and plugging it in to a different TV.

If you have Wireless internet at home why not buy a Wireless adaptor for your Xbox. My sister has one of these and it works fine.

Thanks for that I'll go down that route. I currently have a pair of belkin powerline adaptors for my mac mini and apple tv.

Is is possible to use a different company's adaptors for the xbox?

The idea is the xbox 360 would be in the bedroom plugged into power line adaptors and sent wirelessly to the router that already has a belkin adaptor in it?

Yes it is possible. I did not know you could until my sister got this one for her console.

If you buy one of those wireless things you do not need to use the Homeplugs, as your Xbox would just connect to your wireless network.

You only need to use the Homeplugs if you are planning to connect your Xbox to the internet using these instead of wireless.

What does the Apple TV have to do with anything?

Why when you can use Sky Go on the Xbox? It has it's own app.

I know but i keep getting buffering with wireless. I'm asking if a network extender will help.

Since you already have Homeplugs, could you not just use these?
