2009 I think. My first Blu-ray was "The Final Destination" [which then turned out not to be...]
Now I have a PS3 I can use 3D Blu-ray which is just amazing. |

2008 - a Sony BD300 which was one of the world's slowest to start players in history - press power, wait 60 seconds for it to light up, wait another 30 seconds before the tray opens (or disc starts spinning) then wait another 30 seconds to start playing.
Built like a brick privvy and contained a full sized 5.25" PC blu ray drive inside with what looked much like a linux running computer. I then got a Sony BDP 370 which is much faster and yet I still only watch about 6 blu rays a year |

My first Blu-ray player was a fat Playstation 3 40GB which I brought in March 2008.
At the time it was the cheapest Blu-ray player on sale in the UK. And at the time Game did have very good great deal a PS3 40GB, 2 selected games and 2 Sixaxis joy pads all for £299.99. The games that got were F1 Championship Edition which as an F1 fan I rally wanted and Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction which I later trade in for Grand Turismo 5 Prologue. In 2010 I swaped my 40GB model for my dads 80GB model has it had the bigger hard drive. I also have the Offical Sony Playstaion 3 remote control. |

Think around 2008 and it was my 80GB PS3 which is still used today.
I don't really play games on it much any more. Just watch things on this. I am getting up to 50 blu rays now and still going to get more

2008 I think.
A first generation Sharp one (BD-HP20). Still have it. I've now got another one of the same model (second-hand from ebay). Got about 35 Blu-rays. |

2008, a PS3 that I only used for Blu Ray films, have over 200 Blu Ray films now.
Bought my first Blu Ray 3D disc last year and new player in preparation for a £D TV this year I hope. |
