Is Matt going to win then?

In the last 4 years, the celeb who scored the highest in the first week went on to win the show in a painfully predictable way.

I presume the same this year?

I don't know - As an Olympian, I would suggest that Beth only needed to be OK to stand a decent chance and she was actually rather good so I wouldn't be surprised if she won

Oh I do hope so. She seems nice.

I just presumed because Matt is 'fit' and a soap star and top of the leaderboard he would walk it.

I hope it doesn't pan out like last year, it really was a two horse race for the most part. Some surprises for me in Oona and Gareth who I didn't expect to do as well as they did so it will be interesting to see how they progress and if they improve enough to challenge Matt. Beth is another one to watch I think.

I think Gareth & Beth are more likeable than Matt & I don't think Matt is all that great really. He was good but a tad messy & rough around the edges. And if Jason continues to praise him & is harsh on Beth & Gareth I don't think that will do them any harm in the votes either.

Jason has always had his favourites and aimed his criticism at their closest competitors, it usually pushes me the other way. I wish the judges would learn to be consistant and impartial, Ruthie used to be one for having her favourites too.
I'm with you, I think Matt was over-hyped. Did they call his ending original too? I seem to remember Chris Fountain ending one of his routines in the exact same manner. I meant to ask last week.

I knew I'd seen it before, I was like 'how do you not remember that being done before' to the judges/voice over guy (I can't remember who said it). 1st sign of madness is talking to the tv.

Some similarities between Matt and Sam Attwater:
Both aged 24 when in DOI
Both appeared in EastEnders for less than a year before joining DOI
Both partnered Brianne
Both topped the leaderboard in their first skates

I like Matt's confidence and enthusiasm and hope he wins.

Beth reminds me of last year's Jennifer Ellison - very flexible, with lots of posing on ice while carried around by Dan who was also Jen's partner.
