Hi all, i just bought a second hand nokia 7610 for £20!! but the problem is, that it had a dunk in my mates coffee before i got it, now it doesnt work, i have a feeling the main board is F***ed.
Any other ideas for what this could be? or where can i get a mainboard cheap? or any other advice?
Thanks.

You will need, T6 torx driver, decent cleaner ( ECSP is good) and a toothbrush. You can spray the cleaner on the board leave for 10-15 seconds and gently scrub with toothbrush. Even better spend £200 on an ultrasonic to clean it properly

70% white spirit / 30% water

It would help if after cleaning it you had a hot air gun (or girlfriends hairdryer hehe) to totally dry it before powering it up.

Should add, that the more times you try to power up in the current state the less chance of success! Remove the battery now so whatever contamination is on board is not shorting out and possibly damaging components.

Meths is not a good alternative. Not so pure and leaves a deposit on the board. Would recommend wait, buy some white spirit tomorrow.

Clean before powering up.....

Once you have the board out of the phone you can dip the complete board briefly (3 seconds) in it. Then use a toothbrush (dipping toothbrush at intervals when needed) to clean whole board (removing any inspection covers and cleaning within) and then redip to remove any residue. Then get the hairdryer on to dry it completely before power up.

Check the screen connection.....

No need to dip or use cleaner

Put it in the bottom of a sock and hang it on the radiator. Slow drying is the key.....

There are only original products available to my knowledge at the moment. Hence price is relatively high and in which case I'd take it to an official nokia service centre. You can find your local one by clicking the link below:
