I remeber reading at the time that, jaquiline couldn't stand another cast member and walked out. When Mike found out about Linda's affair after their wedding, a stand in for Linda had to be used to finish the scenes. hence the reason we only saw 'Linda' from behind.

Mike Baldwin, her new husband and sparring partner, was suspected of doing away with her but it turned out she went to Ireland, last we knew. Jacqueline Chadwick left the show to have a baby but has never gone back to acting. She's now living on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada, and running a successful acting school for children. She also writes plays for the kids to perform and produce. She says she really wasn't comfortable in the spotlight that came with celebrity and much prefers teaching and writing. |

http://youtu.be/dSGqDMcXZgs?t=13m55s Very strange that they had to do this, as she appears fully in the previous episode but only in two scenes of this episode. There was obviously time to record the audio of the Linda's lines before the actress departed (unless of course they also used a "sound alike" to record Linda's lines) |

Didn't she have a fall out with the actress who played Maxine? It's such a shame she's given up acting, she was fantastic. More so in Emmerdale than Corrie. Quote:
Funny when you think about it, she was in emmerdale for ages.. Strange she only just couldn't cope with it

If she did storm off the set then it's no wonder she never went back into TV acting. Who would hire her?
Unless this is wrong and she went into labour or something?? |

I remember that in real life she has quite a strong Scottish accent which wasn't at all detectable in her roles in CS and ED.

The way it was reported at the time, Jacqueline Pirie was either going on or had already gone on maternity leave. They were filming a set of episodes on location at a country estate for Fred and Eve's wedding, and these were supposed to include Linda's screen exit (I think she was scripted to run off with Mark). Jacqueline said she'd been promised a light filming schedule due to her pregnancy, but after a couple of days she became annoyed that this promise was not being respected, and walked off set.
As they were on location, the plot had to be hastily rewritten, hence the rather clumsy tone of Linda's final episodes, complete with the stunt double who obviously wasn't Jacqui being shoved into a car. |

It's blatantly not her voice in that clip either!
![]() You just know that they would have rewritten and reshot all this stuff if it wasn't for the location setup for the wedding. What a huge disaster! and it had been a storyline building for months too! It would have been like if Alison King had just walked off the show just before the climax of the whole Peter/Leanne/Carla stuff. |

I remember Linda's exit. I think if involved Mike dragging her into a car, but you didn't see her face. It was really weird.

I remember it being on the news that she walked out so suddenly. I'm surprised that the producers never sued her for leaving before she was meant to.
