But great news I love Father Brown but I didn't realise that it was a popular export "has been sold to 162 territories"? But that just increases the chance of further series produced.
Like Midsommer Murders it's an example of the "cosy" sub-genre of British crime dramas and so I would imagine it's probably popular abroad for the same reasons MM is

Tom Chambers is on tour in Noel Coward's Private Lives. He is in Torquay all next week at the 1500 seat Princess Theatre, Aylesbury the following week, and Bath the week after.

Couldn't get any TV work then? I bet they put his Strictly win in the advertising.

EDIT: They did as well! Noticed Charlotte Richie's in it too. She's in Fresh Meat, Call The Midwife and still doing theatre. She's currently more famous than him!

Actors go where the work is, whether it's daytime TV, theatre or wherever. All actors are really jobbing actors to an extent.

Some actors love live theatre and only do Tv stuff to allow them to do theatre which is usually less well paid. It's not a step down

This is true but I wouldn't call the core Father Brown cast jobbing actors and Tom Chambers isn't. The show is better without his perma-sneer anyway.

I've been catching up with Fr Brown and last night watched the one from the 3rd series about the hotel of louche thrill-seekers with Ronni Accona. Tis amazing what you can get away with in the afternoon when the kids are at school esp when the spirit of the programme tends to be "jaunty"

That sounds disappointing But will reserve judgement till I've seen it.

Mortifying! Sid seemed conspicuous by his absence from the promotion for the Christmas special. No more Lady Felicia and Sid!

I thought Sid would be gone because Alex Parks is too busy playing Draco Malfoy on stage. But is Felicia gone for good?

If she is then I have very little interest in watching the new series.

My interest has just dropped to basically zero. The best characters are gone.

Price. Parks is a female singer.

But if you scroll down past the photo to the cast list, Lady Felicia is listed at position 5!

That's going to be because she leaves that episode probably.

I have to say that they're getting some big name guest stars this series.

Oh yeah, that's possible. They did that when the detective in Series 1 came back just for the first episode of Series 2.

She is also pictured (and seems to be central to the plot) in the Christmas episode:

The Christmas special: certainly not an original story; so you could only enjoy the performances of the characters in what was a sad story with maybe to many happy endings influenced, maybe, by the vagrant..

Sid was still in the opening credits but not the end credits and he was only mention towards the end in a toast to absent friends.

Really enjoyed the first of the new series. Jack Deam is definitely channeling James Finlayson!
