I enjoyed that episode yes no Sid but it was still good.
Presumably Nancy Carroll is too busy doing theatre at the moment.

I enjoyed it. I like it when Sid is on, but he wasn't in all the previous episodes anyway. However I'm not looking forward to Lady Felicia going - who's going to do all the screaming when they find a body?

Really enjoyed the first of the new series. Jack Deam is definitely channeling James Finlayson!

This series films April-June or July this year as 15 episodes so it is where they were not where they are now.

This is true but I wouldn't call the core Father Brown cast jobbing actors and Tom Chambers isn't. The show is better without his perma-sneer anyway.
So he's gone? Too bad. Oiks, looks like they just showed the last episode of Season 3 and have started with Season 4. They must use the Queen Mary to get new shows to those of us across the pond. And yes, I know the Queen Mary is drydocked. |

My interest has just dropped to basically zero. The best characters are gone.

I liked the Inspector telling Father Brown 'You haven't seen me'. Must have taken Mark Williams back to his Fast Show days.

Lady Felicia is my favourite character, so I'm gutted she's leaving.
I enjoyed the Christmas Special - I've been binge-watching The Missing and a light-hearted murder mystery was just what I needed! |

I like lady Felicia too but no one character is the entire show other than I guess father brown himself although in midsummer we quickly took to a new barnaby so nothing's set in stone.

Is she leaving though? Apart from her absence in some of the upcoming episodes, there has been no indication that the character (or actress) is leaving.
*If Nancy Carroll's available. |

"Bunty" is just going to be like a younger version of Lady Felicia isn't she?

I'll definitely miss Lady Felicia, though Bunty has been pretty good so far.
The police inspector needs to tone down the ham factor a bit! |

Jack Deam and John Burton, who is now credited in the opening titles, do seem to be the comedy relief for this series.
Emer Kenny is almost a copy of Lady Felicia. Their cut glass accents were almost identical when speaking to each other and I wonder ,as a writer, if she has been adding her own lines. |

Is gout something that can go away and come back again??
D.I. James Finlayson had it in the Christmas special but there was no mention of it in the first two episode of Series 5 only for it to make a return in today's episode |
