Well that makes no sense. And I promise you every time you say it everyone that hears you just dismisses what you're saying.

However Samsung Galaxy S3 was available in 145 countries by July 2012 it's been on sale for 7 months mind!!

So actually on a day by day basis the iPhone 5 has been doing better than the S3.

Stop being pedantic, Apple has not released the details yet in fact Samsung have ONLY just released theirs. Normally Apple exceeds expectation but we'll see... should be interesting.

Also Samsung reports shipped, Apple reports SOLD phones.

Doesn't sound like a particularly profitable business model.
Which is strange given that the last complete set of quarterly results Samsung published saw them report record profits.

Apple's profits for the last couple of quarters have been in excess of $8bn - that's more than $2.5bn/month.
You have to go back a number of years for them to have made as little as $1bn/month profit.

Samsung are expected to announce profits of over $8bn on revenue of over $50bn and that's just for the last 3 months of last year.
Even if they had this debt you claim, it's a drop in the ocean for them.

Those are just analyst predictions and its for I phones not i phone 5, all models. I for one don't think the Iphone 5 has sold almost 50 million, in fact I don't even think it's sold more than S3 untill someone corrects me. We will find out soon I guess.

I really can't believe that the S3 has sold more than the iPhone 5. Didn't the iPhone 5 sell 5 million in it's first weekend or something, whereas I remember reading that the S3 had sold 20 million after 3 or so months. Even if the S3 is the better phone they don't have the ridiculously marketing that apple have, or people queuing up for days outside shops.

Funny that, analysts last year were predicting them to hit $1000 dollars a share by this point in time. Shows how much they know.

Samsung said the 100 million number was 'from the supply side' so I think that's pretty clear they mean sales into the supply chain rather than sales to end users.

It appears this time Samsung have actually reported it as Sales. Well done them, i eat my hat. Lets just see what Apple say...

Official Press release from Samsung Mobile:

Samsung GALAXY S Series Surpasses 100 Million Unit Sales

January 14, 2013

• Samsung has announced that global channel sales of the company’s flagship smartphone, GALAXY S III and its two
predecessors GALAXY S and GALAXY S II have surpassed 100 million units sales as of January 13, 2013.

• Samsung GALAXY smartphones are intuitive and easy to use, display photos and videos on dazzling screens, and
deliver a premium user experience with a design that is elegant and feels natural.

• The GALAXY S, has reached over 24 million global channel shipments, achieving 10 million of these during the first
seven months after its launch in June 2010.

• Building on this success Samsung launched the GALAXY S II in April 2011. This smartphone reached around
40 million shipments, achieving 10 million global channel sales in just five months.

• In May 2012, Samsung unveiled the GALAXY S III - a smartphone designed for humans and inspired by nature.
It revolutionized the user experience, and was critically acclaimed, achieving 20 million global channel sales in
just 100 days – which made it Samsung’s fastest selling smartphone yet.

• GALAXY S III has now passed the mark of 40 million unit channel sales.

Most folk here know they are not out.. but are coming soon ( January 23) however for now the best guess is the experts who get paid for guessing this.. not someone on a forum. I have no reason to suggest they are way off the mark, do you?

Yeah, common sense dictates that 49 million iPhone 5s sold even in the last quarter let alone December is unrealistic.

Same period the year before, Apple sold a little over 37 million iPhones total, they have never sold anything like 49 million iPhones (of any/all models combined) in a quarter before.
So the idea that a single model alone would have sold that many is clearly utterly ridiculous.

As I said seen nothing that indicates that 49 million iPhone 5s have been mentioned have you? or do you agree with the previous posts in relation to this?

Right...Apart from being a snip at Android users, its also the stupidest thing i have seen.

Apple advertise using iAds. So....iOS = paid for by apple/you = you are the product.

See how stupid that is?
