Samsung tablet won't connect to internet

I bought a 7" tablet last month & I had no problem setting it up, synching my e-mail account & my Mozilla browser.Everything was working fine until yesterday when I switched on the tablet---my PC router was connected to Orange but the tablet wouldn't connect as it normally does.It says "Wi-Fi unavailable" but the signal is strong.I tried my tablet in a nearby Costa and everything worked as normal without any connection problems.

Any suggestions?

Have you tried restarting your router?

Agreed, this usually fixes that sort of thing.

My PC is switched on, connected to Orange and is working fine yet my tablet tells me that Orange is out of range and there is no network connection.I'm only a foot away from the router. When I go on Settings & Wi-Fi networks I'm told that Orange is secured but it still won't connect.I'm stumped as to why it won't connect when my PC is connected.

How does your PC connect to the router? If it's using a cable then the status of the WiFi is irrelevant to that.

If the PC is cabled to the router then are you sure the WiFi is turned on on the router? If not then you may be seeing either a remembered connection from when your WiFi was last on or a neighbour's WiFi with a similar name to yours. Either of which would result in a failure to connect.

If the WiFi is turned on then is there a way to make the tablet "forget" the connection. It's possible that the details it's remembered have got corrupted. By deleting the remembered connection you are effectively connecting again from scratch so will have to enter your WiFi security password again.

I'm now connected to the internet again.I'd forgotten what my Wi-Fi security password was and where I could find it--but it was right in front of me

Thanks for the help.
