How does your PC connect to the router? If it's using a cable then the status of the WiFi is irrelevant to that.
If the PC is cabled to the router then are you sure the WiFi is turned on on the router? If not then you may be seeing either a remembered connection from when your WiFi was last on or a neighbour's WiFi with a similar name to yours. Either of which would result in a failure to connect.
If the WiFi is turned on then is there a way to make the tablet "forget" the connection. It's possible that the details it's remembered have got corrupted. By deleting the remembered connection you are effectively connecting again from scratch so will have to enter your WiFi security password again.
