What handset do you have?
You almost certainly don't need the app killer.

I have the Samsung note 2. It's certainly impressing me so far. Yeah the killer app seems a bit pointless. I suppose I'm looking for some 'different' apps than the bog standard. I love widgets too.

The app killer will probably do more harm than good.
They were arguably necessary back when handsets had a couple of hundred meg of RAM, you've got 2 gig. Not to mention, the OS will free up memory by killing unused apps if it needs it.

As for what other apps to get, what do you want?

Ah ok cheers for that. Nothing really in particular, just everyday apps I suppose. It was the lady in the phone store that told me I needed that killer app - she also mentioned virus checkers! Will I need one?

Bit of automation for you - try Llama for making different rules for your phone in different geographic areas.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...ab.Llama&hl=en

Teamviewer to remote control your PC with your phone/tablet

Zeebox will let you change channel on compatible TVs/set topboxes

I really like Feedly for reading news feeds (bit like Flipboard)

and don't forget you can customise everything. Here's an great alternative keyboard - Swiftkey

I have multiple Android devices, have never used an anti-virus app and have never had any issues.
Common sense will keep you safe IMO, not that it hurts to protect yourself.

I've got to say, so far Andoid trumps iOS. I love how I can customise my phone so much. Maybe it's the fact I've had iPhone after iPhone with minimal updates. This just feels like I've really stepped up!

The amazon app store is a good one to add, they have a free app every day and they seem pretty decent. Its like an iOS 12 days of christmas 356 days of the year for apps/games.

Today is some painting package.

Not many actual recomendations so:

Papyrus - I had this on my Note and my wife still uses it - try it over SNote/SMemo.
Chrome - Not sure if the GNote 2 ships with Chrome as standard, if not get it. It links with Chrome on your desk top.
Google Earth - Looks stunning on the Note's screen.
Weather Pro - looks great and has a good widget
Flipboard - Great widget
Play Music - Google own music service. You could covert your iTunes library for uploading, however if you don't want to do that...
Winamp - Alows you to import your iTunes library.
Nova Launcher - a, imho, much nicer home screen than what comes on your Note 2 and much more customisable.

For christ sake people. Have a clue before you spout complete bollocks.

Android apps often surpass iOS ones nowadays. Long gone are the days where all devs developed for iOS before Android.

Paid apps on Android do NOT have ads. Free ones however like iOS do.

Years ago, devs developed for iOS first then put a piss poor port over to Android. Nowadays that doesnt happen and the apps are always equal to or better than their iOS counterparts.

Some people like skywhateverhisnameis, dont move on with the times and think apple still rules the roost.

It depends on what kind of apps you want. Here are a few that I use the most on my phone

For Footbal results I use Soccer Score centre

One of the best file explorers. Can also link to cloud drives and allow you to transfer files to/from cloud drives X-plore

TuneIn Radio is a great app.

Want to know when apps go on sale, AppSales will let you know.

To keep an eye on your data useage use 3G watchdog pro

For browsing I use Boat browser. Recently ,moved from dolphin browser.

Dont like your stock launcher, use Nova Launcher. Ita great launcher.

For cricekt news I use Cricbuzz

For email I use Enhanced email. Can view my work, gmail and sky emails in one great app.

If you have sky, then Record IT is a great app. Can setup recordings on your sky box from your phone.

Yes. But I am being deliberately obtuse here, skyfail compared apps on Android with the iOS operating system. And I want to know how this comparison can be made.

And apps like addfree block ads for you. Try getting them from the App Store.
