There's good and bad here, just like everywhere else.

You should start with some Yorkshire chorizo http://yorkshirechorizo.co.uk/ That alone ought to change your mind about British cuisine!

Tuscany.

Went there as part of my honeymoon. One can taste the tomatoes, spinach, veggies. They take pride in the smallest of details with ingredients, cooking, serving and eating.
So so tasty.
And the wine...

Indian then Vietnamese.

I have a home in Spain and over the years have seen tapas become more "fast foodish" not the lovely fresh ingredients in them there used to be - over use of mayo etc.

I haven' t really tried many cuisines but I do really like eating in Indian restaurants. As a vegetarian it' s nice to have so many choices.
I also like some aspects of British food culture, things like ' afternoon tea'. Dainty little sandwiches and lovely cakes. I think British puddings are very nice as well.

That depends who you are in Britain .

This forum often gets called a load of snobs sometimes, we cant win.

This country is full of people that love to cook fresh stuff from scratch touching on many food cultures all around the world. That is where i see my food culture and see that in many posters on DS.

If you dont see yourself in that group then feel free to criticise it, but dont insult me.

yes, don't forget that and we have possibly the most cosmopolitan range of foods available anywhere in the world

I've never really tried Vietnamese food, but going on the recommendations it's getting here I may have to!

Ethiopian food is quite nice too.

There is some nice Indian food but on the whole, it seems to be spicy food cooked in load of oil and heavy sauces with food colouring. Or at least it is on the High street.

Ethiopian seems to be less greasy and heavy?

I suggest you stop eating in shitty high street take aways then as that is not proper Indian food, it's been tailored for British larger lout tastes. It's like comparing Pizza Hut to decent Italian pizza.

while that style of cooking does exist in Indian it has very little to do with the vast majority of authentic Indian food.

As for Ethiopian, I've only ever been to one Ethiopian restaurant and that was in Nairobi so I don't know how 'authentic' it was. If I remember we had kebabs and a spicy beef stew which was served with doughy dumplings. OK but nothing special.

Adore British food. Bangers and mash, Sunday roasts, Pastries

And the puddings!

Although I love Asian food, I'm reluctant to say it as obviously takeaways simply aren't the real McCoy!

Italian with Chinese and Indian running close behind.

I could do with a curry right now and i'm only just peckish.
