So it seems maybe Ste expresses his worries to Brendan and Brendan goes away and thinks about what he can do then makes the jump maybe to prove to Ste he's committed ?? either that or they've just worded it weirdly.

Whatever happens I'm excited Brendan's happy and secure enough to make that step and Ste's gonna be delighted
