I assume this episode aired with ads, so can someone tell me the length of the time slot the episode was in? On the internet the episode is 59 minutes total. I usually only see that with British shows that air on the BBC, since the BBC doesn't need to leave room for ads.

Agreed, I thought the same thing viz Clockwork Orange.

I really liked it. It was weird, a bit gross but interesting as well. Great opening episode.

Plot Holes after Ep1:

The killing of the people in the comic shop was meant to look like a gas leak but one of them was killed by being hit by a metal pipe and there was blood everywhere. Clearly this would have wrecked the gas leak cover-up story. Even if they had all been killed using the gas canister, any policeman or coroner would question why the people didn't make any attempt to get out since domestic gas smells (unlike CO gas)

Two of the characters were arrested on false charges and one even had DNA evidence against him but had a solid alibi. This would raise a massive red flag over the evidence gathering and would justify a separate police investigation by itself - yet no-one cares about it afterwards.

The civil servant had no reason to allow himself to be blackmailed like that. I think we all know that real politicians have done things on a par with than get a mistress pregnant and basically have just got on with their lives after the stories came out.

The whole things is pretty shaky but I'll probably still watch it. It's like a modern 'X Files' made by people who read 'Vice' magazine a lot.

He could have been hit by a flying metal pipe during the explosion having walked in just before the explosion hence no gas in lungs. I suspect an explosion muddies the forensic waters just a bit.

unless I'm misremembering, there wasn't any explosion. They broke the gas pipe and left, making it seem like they died of suffocation (except for pipe guy, obv.). And when Ian and Becky went there, there was no sign of any explosion or fire, the shopfront was perfectly intact, remember?

You're not misremembering. According to OH I probably took 2 + 2 and made 5. Not for the first time, he muttered. So no supper for him.

I saw the byplay with the cigarettes and the matches and thought that they'd leave something burning to create an explosion after they'd left. But apparently not. Looks like a plot hole to me too, then.

I feel bad for costing someone their supper Yeah I don't think they properly thought through that part of the plot, or something got lost in the editing maybe.
