Didn't they say that Utopia had been written in the early 80s (or at least that it had graphics of a disease in it that didn't appear until the mid-80s)? And now Madame Hyde talks about her father coming up with it after the end of the Cold War? Confused...

Rather lame. It's like a stylish X-Files with poorer actors and writers.

Were there flash frame images in the first ep? I'm sure I saw one in this at the start during the recap of the previous episode. No idea what it showed though; will have to play it back now :P

I do wonder if people actually watch though, the daft questions

I don't think it has very much in common with the x-files at all, in fact the thing it reminds me of most is VforVendetta, Obviously not identical but similar themes, secret medical testing, conspiracies etc.

Haha,

Fiona O'shaughnessy, who plays Jessica Hyde, is brilliant

I thought that was the point, the 2 scientists engineered viruses in secret and then some of them were later released eg BSE. So the book contains images of the work or structures of the viruses.

Quite pleased with myself watching this. Didn't need cushion nor did I run into the kitchen. Good episode though.
