Aaliyah Haughton, the R&B singer who died in a tragic plane crash almost 12 years ago, is 34 today!

What are your fave Aaliyah songs and albums?

My personal favorite album is her last one, but I love songs like "It's Whatever", "More Than A Woman" and "I'm So Into You"

Happy birthday Aaliyah!

I don't own any of her albums but I liked More Than A Woman, Try Again, We Need A Resolution, Rock The Boat, Don't Know What To Tell Ya and Hot Like Fire.

Favourite music video has to be Rock The Boat. Pity that was the last video she did before she died It was sexy and sensual without being in your face like Rihanna or Ke$ha. If she was still alive she probably would have had loads more hits.

More Than A Woman
At Your Best (You Are Love)
Back And Forth
I Care 4 U
Age Ain't Nothing But A Number
I Miss You
Rock The Boat
One In A Million
Try Again
Hot Like Fire
The One I Gave My Heart To
Loose Rap

There were a few other album tracks I heard that I liked aswell, can't remember names though. I think Aaliyah could be my favourite album, it had so many big songs on it and she was going in a great direction with it.

Glad her legacy is still going on with twitter, facebook, youtube, instagram and tumblr. I see new posts, comments and pictures of her daily on it. It's amazing her legacy is still going on despite a career tragicaly cut short

Found out today that her father died in 2012, very sad

I like pretty much everything she's released. And all her songs still sound fresh! 'If Your Girl Only Knew' was played on radio the other day and it sounded so current and new!

R.I.P. She's sorely missed.

What the OP really means of course is that she would have been 34 today.

Such a tragic waste of a young life. Beautiful voice. I love her singing 'Journey to the past'

I wonder where she would be in terms of her career had she lived.

Where Beyoncé wishes she could be.

Probably very successful. She would have had another couple of albums and maybe even gone into acting.

Releasing crappy dance music just like most of the old rnb bunch do these days plus the odd tacky collaboration with David Guetta?

Exactly. I have never seen anyone say that about a dead person before. What a weird way of putting it

Hi. What happened to her dad?.
Nobody's that sure from what I've seen, but I heard someone say that he had problems with his kidneys and had been on dyalisis (sp?) for a while.

I wonder where she would be in terms of her career had she lived.
I'd like to think she'd still be very successful and I do think she would be, as she was at her highest point before her tragic death. While I don't know if she'd be on 'Beyonce levels' as some people say, I can still imagine her having a very large following and a few more successful albums and movies. She was to star in 'Sparkle', 'Honey' and 'The Matrix' sequels had she lived, so I can imagine her movie career would reach further heights.

Exactly. I have never seen anyone say that about a dead person before. What a weird way of putting it
Sorry, I can understand what you mean but I'd like to think she lives on in music - she's my favorite singer and that's a main reason I made the thread.

I remember Try Again and I Miss You and her acting in Romeo Must Die, she had a sweet, gentle chemistry with Jet Li imo
