Hi
I'm currently on the one plan on 3, but saw the Essential Sim only on virgin for only £17, just wondering if there is any catch to this, it seems too good to be true!!
Also do they allow tethering? Had a look on the website but couldn't find a definite answer.

Thanks

Tethering is allowed for now. But i have heard it might change very soon.

Fair use policy is 10GB. After 10GB use your speeds get slowed to 384kbps between 12pm-12am (midday to midnight)

However Virgin use EE so very good network coverage. And their retention deals are great. loads of people have reported getting this deal for around £10pm after being a customer for 3 months and then ringing through to retentions.

So as long as you don't use more than 10GB and are aware tethering can be removed (there is always a way around it) then it's a good deal

Ahh but Three's one plan is truly unlimited data including tethering, why would anyone ditch that for a data allowance cap? And plus there has been talks about them changing the policy etc.

It's great caning the Internet not having to worry about how much your downloading/using the net

Yes but if dah07 uses less than 10gb per month and doesn't need tethering all the time then why not save some money.

One of the real advantages of 30 day rolling contracts

PS If you find Virgin suitable don't forget to ring up after 3 months and tell them you require your PAC and you should get an unbelievable retention offer! Big thread on HUKD regarding some of the deals dished out.

Thanks, after all this I have decided to stick with 3 after all, as apparently you need to be with them for 3 months before you can use your phone abroad, and I'm going abroad next month, unless anyone know a way round this?

Don't even think about using your data abroad Personally, I would be tempted to stick a local sim in your existing phone (if it's unlocked) so no need to use 3.

it will almost certainly be cheaper to buy a local sim then use any sim from the UK
