The X Factor girl group Fifth Harmony have signed a recording deal with Syco Music and Epic Records.

They amassed a legion of fans and won America’s heart on the past season of The X Factor with their breathtaking vocals and inspirational friendship, this week they’ve been pronounced ‘Next Pop Superstar of 2013’ by PopDust, and now Fifth Harmony’s Ally Brooke, Camila Cabello, Normani Hamilton, Dinah Jane Hansen, and Lauren Jauregui are set to take the pop world by storm as they head to the studio to record their debut album which will see a worldwide release in countries such as the USA, UK, Australia, Korea, China and many other destinations.

Ally Brooke said, “OMG!! I'm so looking forward to working with the great Mr. LA Reid and of course my uncle Simon!! Rudolph (Simon calls me Rudolph) is ready to go!! I am going to have a BLAST recording with my girls and working with L.A. and Simon. I promise we’re gonna bring it for our FLAWESOME Harmonizers!”

Camila Cabello said, “Being introduced to the Syco and Epic family means the world to us. We get to learn from and work with the best in the business, people who have built the careers of artists we look up to. The fact that we're being given the opportunity to make music that we want feels like a dream we never want to wake up from, and I literally just have to pinch myself. Simon Cowell is freaking awesome. On the show, we grew very close to him. He genuinely cared about us, not only as contestants, but as people, and we're so grateful to have people like him and L.A. Reid as part of our lives.”

Normani Hamilton said “The X Factor and Simon have given me and my Fifth Harmony sisters this wonderful opportunity to pursue our dreams. Becoming apart of one of the largest record labels in the industry plays a major role in making our dreams a reality. I am extremely excited to be signed to Syco and Epic Records.”

Syco Music’s Simon Cowell, who was Fifth Harmony’s mentor during The X Factor, said, “I knew from the girls’ first performance at judges’ homes in Miami that we’d done the right thing. The chemistry between the Fifth Harmony girls both on and off stage is fantastic. They are really great girls, who have become best friends. They’re great fun to be around and most importantly, they are all incredibly talented.”

Fifth Harmony was born from a collection of talented solo artists who clicked first as friends during The X Factor Boot Camp, but quickly discovered an undeniable vocal chemistry together. At the suggestion of mentor Simon Cowell, the girls became the group now known as ‘Fifth Harmony’. Fifth Harmony has a show-stopping sound, an infectious sense of fun, and they are all richly talented vocalists. A fan favorite and darling among the judges, L.A. Reid deemed them “magical” with Britney Spears saying, “Magic happens when you guys perform – it’s spectacular, girly and fun.”

Fifth Harmony’s debut album will be A&R’d by Syco Music and executive produced by multi platinum selling producer/songwriter Julian Bunetta (One Direction, Boyz II Men, Flo Rida, Natasha Bedingfield, Leona Lewis), who first worked with the girl group as a music producer on The X Factor. The album will also feature collaborations with songwriters Autumn Rowe (Cher Lloyd, Alexandra Burke, Leona Lewis) and Lil’ Eddie (Usher, Pink, Jessie J, Cody Simpson).

Bunetta said, “I had the pleasure of working with the girls of Fifth Harmony on The X Factor, and I am very excited to continue to work together on their debut album with Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid. It was remarkable to watch these five young women from across America go from being strangers to becoming a true group of friends who all care for each other and believe in each other. I believe pop music is overdue for a girl group that can represent the young ladies of this new generation. Fifth Harmony is that group.”

Fifth Harmony are Ally Brooke, Camila Cabello, Normani Hamilton, Dinah Jane Hansen, and Lauren Jauregui. They were five girls (ages 15-19) from across the country that auditioned for The X Factor USA as solo artists. They joined forces as a group and captured America’s imagination with their contagious charisma, breath-taking vocals and inspirational sisterhood. They came into the competition as five girls with the same dream and made it to the finale and top 3.

This year it seems like Syco are taking the lead on A&R with Emblem 3 and Fifth Harmony which is quite interesting. Might have favoured Columbia because they've got a better track record as it stands but you'd not bet against L.A Reid getting Epic back on the right track.

Loved them on XFUSA Pleased for them.

Think Simon should be giving the same backing to Little Mix though.

It annoys me when he does this. Like he's trying to make Emblem 3 happen, when imo they don't deserve it. They're cocky and I cannot stand them. Yet they're favored. They got a really good record deal, and they're working with some amazing people. Then you have Union J who are the sweetest boys ever, and they actually did pretty good on TXF, they gave some great performances, yet they get none of the advantages that Emblem 3 got. It's so unfair.

Why must they always be compared to Little Mix all the time but I'm looking forward to hearing music from them.

I agree but there's enough room for both groups, Fifth Harmony are actually quite good.

I'm really happy for Fifth Harmony but I'm not sure at all what to expect from their music except girly and pop.

Easy answer: Simon wasn't UJ's mentor.

It helps to be signed in the US and be mentored by Simon Cowell. But there is nothing too special about these deals. They're actually more like the usual UK deals than last years US show where Melanie, Chris, Marcus and Astro were all handled by Epic.

This time Syco are very much involved with their own A&R Consultants leading the projects for Fifth Harmony and Emblem 3. As Syco aren't a "full service" label out in the US, they do need partners like Epic and Columbia.

Simon is just back in the UK so I'd imagine we'll get some news on the UK acts in the coming weeks.

China and Korea are massive markets to break into it will be very difficult. I wonder if this is an indication that they will be trying to introduce KPOP into their songs

Back when Cowell was an A&R for BMG and when he really started to make a name for himself he had 2 boybands - Westlife and 5ive. He played them off against each other to get publicity, pitching 5ive as the "bad boys" of pop. 5ive got absolutely ripped apart in the Cowell biography, now that I think about it.

I doubt he'll do the same with these two though. For now, Emblem 3 are just in the US and personally, I don't see the same potential. I think they'll be pitched quite differently as well with the whole "surfer" look and more guitars. Ultimately what Syco want is to have several huge pop brands on their books so they'll do whatever they think will get them to that position. The last thing they want is to damage 1D.

Sadly I reckon they will be moulded into another plastic girl group that sounds like all the rest, because that is what Syco does. I reckon that they will come out sounding like all the other samey UK acts like 1D, Little Mix,etc as they will be marketed that way It is a pity they can't go elsewhere.

How the eff do 1D and LM sound the same? 1D are pop/rock while LM are pop/RnB. I'm guessing 5H will go for an electro pop sound, based on their Anything Could Happen performance.

Anyway, just as London buses, when you're waiting for a girl group, two come along at the same time. Will be interesting to see if there'll be a BSB/Nsync situation in the US or if one will outshine the other. *grabs popcorn*

According to your posts when the X Factor was on they couldn't harmonise, wouldn't go far in the competition, along with all the other crap.

Yet here we are, with them having finished third and with a record deal. Haters gonna hate as they say, or should that be jealous Little Mix fanatics gonna hate.

Someone mentioned on mj'sbigblogs that pure female pop groups don't really do well. The groups that do well there have a r&b leaning.

I like them and I hope "EPIC" is better this year! Last year was a total mess with almost ALL artists including XF US winner and runner-ups. The only ones that had a hit and were promoted decently are Cher Lloyd and Karmin.
L.A fired like almost all the promotion guys from Epic a few weeks ago so I hope the new people can re-organize that mess.

I will always think that making a girlband after Little Mix winning the X Factor, was a mean, totally irresponsible move by Simon. If he spotted Camilla as a good project for a girlband (like he did with Liam Payne) it would be good to wait for Little Mix have their chance, and after that go with the idea of making another girlband.

If Little Mix are good enough, a bit of competition wouldn't and shouldn't hurt them.

I think it's good that more girl bands are popping up, it's been a while that we've had this many, I do like 5H so I hope their music is good.
