Bitlocker drive encryption
If I encrypt a USB Flash Drive using Bitlocker will I be able to access it on computers that are not running the Ultimate versions of Windows?

All versions of windows 7 W2K8 R2 onwards have 'read' bitlocker service installed, you can check this in service manager.
If you are using vista then you have to install some extra software which I think bitlocker stores on the USB drive (so no need to download anything). Either way when you insert the USB device you will be prompted for its password. |

Yes, I've seen it work on XP. The USB stick auto runs a program which allows you to enter a password to access the encrypted files.

Cheers, I just keep a load of backup files for things like banking and such on a USB and have just got an OS capable of Installing Bitlocker.
I have looked for software to do this, but none of them I found were not this simple. |
