Hi all,
Can anyone tell me if a Topping TP-32 is capable of driving a pair of JBL Control 1 speakers.
The reason i ask is that they are only rated at 10watts into 8ohms.
I am aware that Topping have other amps with more power but the 32s do have a remote control which is important to me.
Only to be used to improve the TV sound by connecting through a Panny Blu-Ray/HDD recorder.
All comments appreciated. Thank you.

Yes, the amp will drive the speakers. It just won't go as loud as an amp that's more powerful.

The speakers are efficient (89dB) and that's a good thing. They need only half the amp power to produce the same volume as the less efficient (86dB) Wharfedale Diamond 9.0's.

The thing to watch out for when running a low power amp is distortion. A small amp has less power in reserve for those big peaks in sound from the source. If you're listening regularly with the volume up at 70%+ then you probably need a bigger amp.
