Hi all. As the title says whenever I switch to the desktop version of DS on my Galaxy S2 it redirects to a site called 'mobirewards'.

I've cleared the cache and cookies on the phone but is still happening and is annoying because I am trying to use the search function!

Anyone have any suggestions on how to stop this?

Thanks

probably some type of malware. Install AVG Free or something of that ilk from Google Play and see if that will clean it.

Deleting cookies fixes it for a while.

Started happening to me too but only on DS. I have AVG on my phone but it says there's no viruses or malware.

I think it's a virus that is effecting a lot of handsets.

It'll probably be a dodgy ad that is managing to do a meta redirect when it detects the mobile user agent. So not viral, just a rouge ad that is hijacking.

Don't worry it's unlikely to be malware and it'll randomly happen to all DS mobile users with a certain user agent. They probably did it that way so DS would take longer to detect it.

I think I have just opened a DS support case to let them know, however when I submit the support case it doesn't acknowledge they have it, it just takes you back to the 'what kind of thing do you want to contact us about' page!

I think it's done anyway, so hopefully they will investigate.

I've just installed Firefox browser on my phone and within the app I installed adblock plus. Now when I go to DS on my phone there are no ads and I'm no redirected to anything.

It was doing it on my sisters iPad as well so its not a virus!!

Support replied with the following. I guess it's sorted now.

Hi,

Thanks for the message. We're aware of this issue and are looking into it.

Regards,

That wont have made the blindest bit of difference.

It was an ad redirect. Not a viris/malware.

No, it was one the usual ads on DS that comes with redirects. You get used to it unfortunately.

Just a wipe over with a soft cloth should do.
