As 2005 could well be for KB what 2004 was for the Mozzfather, ie new album on the cards after too long away, and with The Futureheads covering 'Hounds of Love', I'm hoping that another former icon is on the cusp of a major comeback.

So now could be a good moment to reflect on some of the best Bushy bits...(of course if the new album is rubbage then you never saw me start this thread, right!).

For me her finest moments (in NPO) are:

Experiment IV
Cloudbusting
And Dream of Sheep
The Ninth Wave
Babooshka
Mother Stands for Comfort
Hounds of Love
Wuthering Heights (naturally)
Sat in your Lap
Army Dreamers
Running Up That Hill

For me it has to be The Ninth Wave

Inspired by the poet Tennyson, it is a work of pure genius. Gets better every time you hear it.

Oh my girlfriend would be so proud of this post, she LOVES Kate Bush... and has truly converted me in the process

For me Moments Of Pleasure is just pure genius.

There was talk of an album in the papers a few days back, any news of it's release date?

I am really, reall excited about Kate bringing out a new album. I have sorely missed that genius and her 'Woman's Work' for years. I'm sure so many of us have.

I could NOT believe it when I read that she's to grace the air waves again.

I am just soooo excited.

My fav KT Bush album has to be The Dreaming...I just love that stuff.

Houdini
Get Out of My House
The Dreaming

The rest

Deeper Understanding
Never Be Mine ('They're setting fire to the cornfields....')
Wow
England, My Lionheart
Running Up That Hill
Army Dreamers
Saxophone Song
December Will Be Here
Under the Ivy

Oh and Etc...etc...etc.

We have been starved too long!

That woman is a poet.

I love Kate Bush - have to be in the right frame of mind though. I mostly like the more recent stuff, eg. The Red Shoes and The Sensual World, which I remember buying from a bargain bucket years ago.

well lets hope its good - its taken her long enough after all. the last two albums were only patchy really compared to "hounds of love".

absolutely love the whole "ninth wave", especially "hello earth".

one track not already mentioned - "this woman's work".

if her new stuff can hit those kind of spots i'll be happy. it'll certainly be interesting, given how long its been since her last album, and how much trends have come and gone and changed in that time.

I love Kate Bush. Her 'operatic' wuthering heights is one of my all time faves......beautiful

I had heard rumours that she had gone a little eccentric in certain ways, just hope that was,nt true.

Does anyone know of any recent interviews with her?

I think her highest point was Alan Partridge's Kate Bush medley

I heard that she'd split up with her long term partner (who had worked with her) and found someone else and had a child. Then she bowed out for a few years.

Welcome back Kate!

Del Palmer, bass player and sound engineer, is her former partner and is said to be engineering on the new album.

Kate and her current partner, guitarist Danny McIntosh, had a son, Bertie, in 1999.

I am also a big fan of Kate's work, there are so many wonderful songs, every one a gem but my favorite is Babooska, one of my all time favorite songs.
I'm so looking forward to her new album.

Kate's comeback finally explains why Decca had to cancel Hayley Westenra's "Wuthering Heights" single last March.

Kate's people point blank refused to licence Hayley's superb promotional video (after it had been produced, I've seen it) and now, I think we know why!

Great news about the comeback though.

Only a recently converted fan, although i've had her Whole Story album for some years (present off someone who thought i'd like her).
Best songs for me are:

This Woman's Work
You Want Alchemy
When the Rain Comes (came?!) Down... only got it on download and not sure of the title
Rubberband Girl
Reaching Out
Rocket Man (only because it's one of only a handful of covers that improve upon the original

My fave KB album is Hounds of Love, but I was wondering if anyone else remebers the video to Cloudbusting being show in cinemas with (Back to the Future I think), and you could buy the album in the cinema?

Or am I dreaming?
