Anybody see Steph "gaffe" on Breakfast?
This morning on Breakfast I just caught the end of a conversation where Steph was talking to Charie and Louise about 30 years from now and Steph said:

"Charlie won't be here in 30 years"

*Stunned silence*

Charlie: "What brought that on?!!"

* Steph cringes and starts her segment very uncomfortable *

Charlie, professional as ever, just carried on as if nothing happened.

Cringeworthy, but entertaining!

Rubbish. He is natural, spontanious , and listens to what people say and answers accordingly. he can ad lib.

Bill Turnbull and that Bint that thinks she's it Ried are the most wooden scripted self concious pair on earth.

They can barely stick to the script let alone ad lib. and thier intonation is waaay out of natural synch.

Charlie and Lou are a fun natural conversational pair.

Charlie was born in 1962, making him 50.

In 30,years time he will be 80.

Does anyone really think that he will be getting up at maybe 4am to present BBC Breakfast at the ripe old age of 80?

I think she was just having a playful dig at Charlie's age (rather than his ability as a prseenter). As mossy2103 mentions, Charlie would be 80 in 30 yrs time.

However, I don't like her. It's not her accent - it's just her manner which I find quite brash. And it's not her first little gaffe:

They seem to have reduced the number of days she appears on Brekkie and brought in some other presenters.The only time I watch Daybreak is when she comes on - her grasp of English grammar is not exactly what one expects from a BBC presenter not to mention her habit of dropping ''aitch''.

Does not bother me. However her accent does stand out as the only one of there with such a strong accent. All the others are very bland.

She is inarticulate and rather unpleasant.

It is really sad that Sam Washington left and we ended up with her.

She is a sturdy lass mind you, which is no bad thing.

But let us not forget her mic was left on she was heard swearing at colleagues. Awful woman.
