They didn't "stand up to Rylan" at all. If you remember Rylan and the others saw the other footage of them in the diary room just prior to return and them slating them off, saying what THEY thought and Rylan went bonkers, he was raring to go say "I'm going to have an argument with them when they come in".

Razor owned him later on anyway.
