My dad told me years ago that his uncle used to eat Kippers with raspberry jam as a side condiment. I mentioned that to some people who I worked with and a couple of them said yes they had heard of people doing that... Anyone heard of that?

My old man was a tight old git (dragged up during the war ) He used to make my sandwiches when I was an apprentice and because we had an old tin of sliced peaches left over in the fridge he made me cheese and peach Sarnies

The most freaky I go nowadays is Cheddar and Bovril sandwiches.

Any strange Combos out there?

I like scrambled egg and grated cheese melted on top with salad cream. Not sure if that's a strange combo?

Mackerel and gooseberry is one of those that they call a 'traditional' combo.
I suppose Kippers and Raseberry might be thought of in the same vien ie. rich fish with a tart jam/chutney.

I like chocolate and anything salty like ready salted crisps or having a McDonald's milkshake and dipping my fries into it.

I had Kippers as a starter at the Magpie Cafe in Whitby and it came with jam and bread on the side.

I went to the local takeaway a couple of months ago and asked for fish and cheesy chips with garlic sauce.

Someone at work was telling me she likes fruit cake with a slice of cheese on it or a chocolate digestive with cheese - not yet tried these myself.

I've had the fruit cake with cheese and very nice it was too

Plain digestive with stilton is worth a try as well

I'm probably in the minority here but one thing I find quite revolting is tomato ketchup, and seeing people have it with chips, instead of salt & vinegar, makes my stomach churn.

Back on topic though, my oldest son was telling me the other day that his friend puts tomato ketchup on pizza.

Some people may find my favourite baked potato topic a little odd though, it's jalapeno peppers, raw chopped onion, feta cheese and ranch or caesar dressing.

I don't think that's weird at all. I've seen it on lots of menus.

Don't find either of those odd.
If the pizza is skimpy with the sauce or too bitter then ketchup would balance it.
I like mine with garlic sauce.

The spud topping sounds almost like a tex-mex salsa to me.
