Hi, I tried to unlock my 6600 and I got the message 'code restriction off' or something like that. When I put in a sim from another network, I get 'sim card not valid'. I tried the remote unlock code again and the message said that restriction already off or something.

Can somebody suggest what to do?

When you say enter code 2 then code 7, do youu mean enter the second line and if that didnt work, enter line 7?

Yes. To clarify - the numeric character before the final [#] denotes the lock number. To be precise I should have suggested lock 7 and 2.

You cannot do any harm by doing them all. Just ensure you select correct network and handset before pressing calc.

I'm a bit confused though! I entered 4 incorrect codes and then a supposedly correct code. but the the 5th try didnt work even though it said sim restriction off. Then I entered that same code again and it said restriction already off. And finally I entered code 2 via your calculator - worked. I thought you can enter only 5 codes?

Your a lifesaver - I tried another code calculator and I used up two of my 5 lives - yours worked on the second go (+2) so with just one spare try remaining!

Hmm I tried a sim fom a different network today and it still says 'sim card not valid' even though if I enter the security code form your calc that seeemed to unlock it, it says 'sim is not restricted'

I just tried the same thing with my old Nokia 6310i - again ti accepts teh code (+2) but when I turn the phone on with another sim card I still get 'phone restricted'

Problem solved - both phones were Orange UK and needed both +1 and +2 keys to unlock.
