Listening to Leann Rimes on Radio 2 today Live in Hyde Park. Such a shame her private life overshadowed and tainted her music career over the past few years, because she is a brilliant artist, who can sing.

Interesting version of the last song on her set - How Do I Live. It must be very difficult for an artist to keep singing a song in the same way year after year. However, it is what audiences expect, so it is always a risk to change it up. It didn't work for me so I'm off to play the recorded version.
![]() I love her new song, 'How to kiss a boy', but not sure if that is Country.

As long as she continues to sing, there is always a chance that her singing can take back at any time what it never should have lost in the first place and that is the front and center position where she is concerned.
![]() God bless you and LeAnn always!!! ![]() Holly (a day one fan of her) Listening to her on BBC Radio 2, she sounded fantastic. It also sounded like she got a good reception from the Hyde Park crowd. I'm glad she is still singing, because she is a fantastic talent. More of these singing shows and no more reality tv ![]() http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz...Hyde-Park.html Beware of catty comments in the article, but good to see an article mention her music

I've just collected my copy of Cartwheels by Ward Thomas. They are apparently the first UK country act to get a Number 1 album.
http://www.officialcharts.com/chart-...crazy-__16272/ Admittedly this is more pop country than hard core country, but a pretty good album I reckon. I'm looking forward to seeing them in concert next month. Listening to "Letters To Ghosts" by Lucie Silvas this morning. I'm only aware of her pop stuff from around 2004. Nice to see that she's still been making music all of these years. I noticed that she played in London earlier on in the week. This album has been out for a couple of years yet it's only just been released in the UK this year. |

Thank you for posting the link. LeAnn Rimes is one of my favorite singers - although I prefer the more country tinged songs rather than the soul songs (so I'm not sure how much I'll like the new album). For me she is magical when she sings like Patsy Cline - how she did that when she was so young I have no idea.

The launch for 2017 is at the Brooklyn Bowl in London tomorrow night. Honey Ryder, Jeannine Barry and Holloway Road are playing.
Link By tomorrow night we'll know who's playing. I'm hoping for Blake Shelton on one of the nights. I've had his new album on repeat. Who are you all hoping for? |

I'm still really hoping that Blake plays! I really like him at the moment. I'll be gutted if he doesn't play. Plus they already have two returning previous headliners so they need to announce someone who's never headlined before. A lot of people are hoping for Tim McGraw and Faith Hill as they're touring together next year and there's a gap in their schedule in March... |

Went to see Ward Thomas last night. It was much louder than when I saw them two years ago, as they now have a drummer, bass player, guitarist and a keyboard player. It was more like being at a rock concert.
I actually preferred the opening act, Sarah Darling, a Nashville singer/songwriter, who was much quieter!

Waiting anxiously to hear who the final headliner will be.
I'm pleased with the line up so far. I missed Brad Paisley when he played a few years ago which I really regretted. I've seen Zac Brown Band twice live and absolutely loved it both times. The first time I was with my god daughter (18 at the time) and the second with her younger sister (who was 15) -- neither were country fans, or knew much about the band before the show but both became die hard fans afterwards! We were on our feet the whole time -- a really fun night of great music. Sweet Heart Holly -- their performance of Devil Went Down to Georgia was a highlight in both sets. |

Country2country is a great day (or weekend) out regardless of who is playing. Seeing all the pop ups around the o2 etc, it's great fun. Little Big Town are my favourites so I loved it this year. Gonna go on Sunday next year as I really like the Zac Brown Band. Not too bothered about Reba or Brad Paisley - seen him before.

Did anyone see the CMA awards show this past Wednesday night? To me the following were the low points of the show.
Dixie Chicks Carrie Underwood Kasey Musgraves Kelsi Ballerini Maren Morris Miranda was the only Female Artist of the Year award nominee that I care for, so I wish that she had won that award. Also to me, Cole Swindell should've gotten the Best New Artist of the Year award if it couldn't go to Old Dominion or Brothers Osborne because Cole has more songs on the radio than the other nominees. Maren winning with only two songs on the radio right now in my opinion is bull crap and so is Little Big Town getting the Group of of the Year award again when they have not had a big song in over a year now. The competition for that award to me was between, Rascal Flatts, Old Dominion, and the Zac Brown Band who are overlooked every year. Why was Beyonce there when she isn't even a country act? Her appearance was with the Dixie Chicks. If her being there was the only way that their appearance was going to happen, that right there should say everything that we need to know about how they look at country music. To me, if they can't show any respect, they shouldn't expect any in return and I think that they have proven well over the years that they do not have any when they have done nothing but trash one country act after another: Toby Keith, Reba McEntire, Trace Adkins, Joe Nichols, and Jason Aldean. God bless you and those who sing country music and respect the music always!!! Holly |

I really like Maren Morris and she's one of my new favourite artists so thought that was well deserved. Looking forward to seeing her again in March at C2C. And I LOVED Beyonce with the Dixie Chicks. Saw the Dixie Chicks back in May when they covered Daddy Lessons live for the second time (they'd done it the night before in Manchester I think). It was great to see them live again - would love it if they recorded another album. I was particularly happy that Lori McKenna won for Humble and Kind. The song is perfect and I had the pleasure of meeting Lori last year at C2C and she was every bit as lovely as you'd expect someone who wrote that tune to be! If you haven't heard her latest album (Bird and the Rifle) (which includes her version of Humble and Kind) give it a listen. She's got a great voice to match her songwriting talents! Off to see Charlie Worsham this week on Friday. And then some old school Kenny Rogers!!! (Apparently Charlie is opening for him so I'm starting to feel like a stalker. )

The CMAs are being shown on Sky Arts tomorrow night if anyone hasn't seen it yet - or wishes to watch it again.

I saw the Kacey concert on catch-up the other day. Though I wasn't able to go to her Royal Albert Hall show, I did see her at C2C. I noticed that they cut most of the songs for the broadcast though. I was hoping to see her perform "Fine" as its one of my favourite songs by her. I know that she played it in her set. I love that album. Huge fan of her work. Miranda Lambert releases her double album "The Weight Of These Wings" is released on the 18th November. I cannot wait. I'm so excited to hear what she's been working on this past year. Quote:

I've seen bits of it (Carrie's "Choctaw County Affair" performance, for instance.) but not the whole thing. Am I right in saying that they cut most of it for the UK broadcast? Thanks. |
