Is Humax Foxsat HDR still the best for backing up?

Hey Hey.

After having a YouView box and being limited on Channels (especially music) I've been looking at Freesat once again,

I'm very interested in being able to watch content on my laptop and POSSIBLY being able to burn content to DVD. (not wanting a Freesat/DVD Recorder combi)

Is the Foxsat HDR still the only way of doing this? (I know the Echostar had Sling inside but it's becoming increasingly hard to find at a good value where it's instock).

Cheers

You can do similar with the HDR FOX T2 if you add the custom firmware. afaik the Foxsat-hdr is the only Freesat satellite option unless the dlna client is DTCP-IP (Digital Transmission Content Protection) compliant. In that case the hdr-1000s once it gets it's dlna server is also an option for viewing but not burning content to DVD.

Generic fta pvr ready satellite boxes don't normally have any restrictions on exporting recordings.

Thank you, interesting re a generic ftv box, do these still have full tv listings on them and series links etc?

Cheers, sorry for any grammar or errors as posting from my phone.

A few can display the freesat epg but none as far as I know have series recording capability, usually only manually set recordings.
