Galaxy Ace 2 - Screen
I am going to buy myself this phone nxt wk but am seriously upset that it has not been fitted with Gorilla glass like the Ace that I have. I cant see any reference to it on corning web site. does anybody know why samsung have made this stupid decision? it's supposed to b a souped up version so why the back tracking with the screen?
All help gratefully recived. bob.g |

You realise gorilla glass is a brand name right. Manufacturers who dont use gorilla glass now use other glass or plastic which is pretty strong and scratch resistant anyway. I use a phone without gorilla glass and there is not a scratch on it.
Don't think that just because it has no gorilla glass means that it's the worst screen in the world Maybe you're thinking of those old touchscreen phones from like 2008 where they used to.scratch all the time. That doesn't happen any more. |

I don't know about that, the Xperia U doesn't have Gorilla Glass but comes with a screen protector in the package, which suggests to me that they recommend you use one, I'd think this would also bit the case with this phone.

Prking is correct. The xperia u comes with scratch resistant glass and a screen protector is actually glued down because its part of the top of the phone to help prevent scratches and stuff.
Yes its not as strong as gorilla glass but it still isn't exactly easy to scratch. Like I said, my phone does not use gorilla glass, I don't have a screen protector and yet I dont have a single scratch, touch wood. Only thing I do have is a few fingerprints I have to rub off every now and then |

I never use screen protectors and haven't scratched a screen since the Samsung Tocco. Even Chinese phones I've had haven't scratched and I can be a bit butter fingers when it comes to mobiles
