The sister of Cheryl's PR manager just tweeted that "obviously Nadine didn't want Girls Aloud to end. Anyone who witnessed her car crash of a solo career knows why. #earsbleeding" but it's been removed from Twitter now.

FIGHT!!

Watching their concert on YouTube and two things made me uncomfortable.

1 - During 'I'll Stand By You', Nicola (who was standing next to Nadine) runs to the other side of the group and merges between Cheryl and Kimberly for a hug and leaves Nadine standing alone.

2 - During 'Something New' Nadine stretches out her hand for Cheryl to high five and Cheryl completely blanks her and Nadine looks quite down about it.
I haven't seen the first video but that wouldn't surprise, me have always had a feeling Nicola didn't like Nadine.

As for the second video, it could have been intentional to ignore Nadine, but I think she just didn't see her outstretched hand, it was down low around the stomach area and Cheryl was looking straight ahead. They have interacted quiet a bit on this tour in other videos.

I hope that is just her opinion and isn't indicative to Cheryl and Nadine's relationship, I never really believed the fued rumours so I will be quite disappointed if they are actually true.

I feel bad for Nadine. lol

They were the only act that kept me interested in the charts during this (for me, quite boring) time in music. I loved how they stuck to their own sound. Also loved how when they released a new single my first reaction would be " that's not catchy, I hate it!!!" Then after a few listens I 'got it' and loved every one of the singles they released (I haven't heart BCYLM).
Sticking to their own sound and not having to resort to rent-a-rapper to sell music probably helped them become successful. Would they have been as successful otherwise? I remember people saying that they wouldn't last more than a year, probably because of Hear'Say and other manufactured acts not lasting long. Boy how wrong they were!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3FBm1S3DvlY at 2:58 you can see Nicola running past Sarah and Nadine to get in between Cheryl and Kimberly.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WwZOLHmDLCs 1:04:17 you can see Cheryl completely blanking Nadine.

And Nicola just Tweeted a picture of her and Cheryl hugging last night with the hashtag #ialreadyknew

She must have forgotten about Ms. Cole's car crash of a voice.

Nothing worse than stupid people who get up themselves!

I knew this thread would be funny. I think this may be the highlight:
No other girl group will EVER come close.
Being totally wrong about the past AND able to predict the future .. now that's talent.

That's a catty thing for the PA's sister to write. I'm glad it's been deleted. Even though Nadine's opened a can of worms slightly (lol ) - it could be played down as she just doesn't want it to end and wants it to carry on. There's nothing wrong in that; but now it's turned into a 'Cheryl v.s. Nadine' thing all thanks to the PA sister's tweet.

Write an autobiography please Nadine

As I said I already had the impression Nicola didn't really like Nadine, but the second video I just think Cheryl wasn't expecting the reached out hand, that video is from a month ago near the start of the tour so she might not have known Nadine was going to do that. I really think people look into things too much, in this video from the same performance and same night but from a different angle it looks to me like Cheryl looks at Nadine and smiles. I can't find any clearer videos, but I don't think Cheryl meant to snub Nadine.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kFx2SeAEikM

And as I already said there are other times during the tour when they have interacted

And the tweet was in reply to Cheryl who posted the picture and said she loves her like a sister.

Any of you GA diehard fans know if Sarah has any plans to record something solo? I would quite like a solo album with just her voice.

Girls Aloud are destined to remain the longest-enduring talent show act for some time. Will Young won Pop Idol earlier in 2002 but he rarely has big hits or high-profile tours. Even X Factor winner Leona Lewis is comparatively low-profile these days.

Girls Aloud lasted December 2002 - April 2009 and then returned for October 2012 - March 2013, so roughly seven years they were together.

JLS were on X-Factor in 2008 so if they last another two years then they'll have outlasted them (same with Alexandra Burke).

She has been saying for quite some time now she has been working on a solo album, I think she said it could be out this year.

"No other girl group will EVER come close"

Maybe because it is a ludicrous statement and I feel that claims like that are not harmless but offensive in their own way.

Offensive in that they perpetuate a myth - that no one else has ever been better or will ever be better (despite the fact that many of the fans even admit that these woman have very little ability) and offensive to all those artists who never manage to have much success or even get a record deal despite being genuinely talented.

Does anyone think the announcement will see an increase in Girls Aloud sales with Ten possibly going platinum?

I always thought that Nadine vs. the rest of the band would spell the end for them. Looks like I was right. I feel bad for Nadine, because her voice did carry the band during their peak. I don't think the other girls realise quite how much.

The only one that will be OK from all of this is Cheryl, the other girls will fade into obscurity or get minor TV roles/theatre or possibly acting, but I don't think any solo careers from the rest of the girls will be successful.

I liked the girls together during their period of back-to-back hits. I hope they can keep it civil following this split, but I feel like it won't go that way.

Well it seems to have done absolutely nothing for the album so far.

Personally, I've always felt that Nadine and Sarah were kind of outcasts within the group, not saying they weren't liked, it's just that they always tended to go off and do their own thing leaving "Chimola" at home together to bond and to allow their friendship to strengthen, and I think that over time, especially the 3 year break that Nadine especially just got more and more outcast because she didn't really stay in contact, so by the time the group reformed it had kind of left a bitter taste with the rest of the members, it is a shame, she got a lot of vocals back in the day, heck, I'd even class her as the leader of the group.

I guess I was right to start this thread way back on 20 Jan after-all, really didn't want to be though!!

Obviously I expected it but I am a little gutted, pity they couldn't have ended with a YouTube video or TV appearance to confirm the news rather that a tweet.

Girls Aloud (2002-2009, 2012-2013) right dates this time after the stick I got for putting 2002-2013 last time to start this thread.

Every time someone mentions the three year hiatus meaning they didn't actually achieve ten years I let out a little giggle, as if that's the most important comment in their lives. Furthermore if someone wants to call them THE BEST GIRL GROUP IN THE WORLD then they can, because that's their opinion.

Anyway, I'm sad they've split up, I went to see every tour they've done (more than once most of the times) and I wish them all success... Except for Nicola. She annoys me. Nadine definitely had the best voice and her album is way better than any of Cheryl's "One great single - 11 filler track" albums.

In the future I really hope they don't do a reunion tour (which they DEFINITELY will do) unless they plan on releasing new things, I've seen them on two GH tours now and it's just a cash cow really isn't it?

I've been grateful for the Ten era, at least we got some new songs, it's been better put out than other reunion/GH eras from other bands.

Well, it could be a spilt, then who is to say that they may find the inspiration to come back and produce more material?

Without Nadine their wouldn't have been Girls Aloud her vocals really hold the group together . I don't want them to split but I always knew they would and they were just coming back for one final tour. They never ever said they were back for good. I remember them saying something about them just back for one tour before they go back to their own projects. I really hope Nadine gets another solo deal her voice is amazing. I don't think anyone is to blame . This ten tour was always going to be their last. They all have their own lives now and have been doing different things . The charts aren't the same anymore either and if GA split now they can go out on a high.
This split was already planned from the start there were always reports that they were splitting up after this tour it's no suprise and on the tour the girls were amazing together and they really seemed to enjoy it. The papers are always trying to make out that Nadine is fighting with the band when they aren't. They did at some point but not now.

And Nadine's final tweet I think she means because people will be blaming her thinking it's her fault. She just wants to put it straight that she didn't decide to split. I really don't think there is any tension between them.

I really think if Nadine still wants to go solo now is the time to try again while she's still a bit in the limelight .

After quite a long hiatus I kind of expected them to not reform for long tbh. When groups go on hiatus for that long they usually grow apart. It was the same case for the Spice Girls who couldn't even get through a reunion tour together.

It's still a little sad though, as it always is when a group that has been together for quite a long time decides to call it quits.

There's a rumour going around that Nadine told someone last night that she had only just found out that the band splitting for good that very day. If true I imagine she's so understandably full of hate and anger at the minute that this could get quite juicy. She's no doubt scratching the eyes out of Cheryl, Kimberley and Nicola pictures this very minute.

I think you may be right, the press made her look like the one who caused the split last time and it led to alot of hate towards her, she probably just wants to make it clear that she wasn't the driving force behind it.

I don't believe that, it comes from a Nadine fan. I doubt very much Nadine is going to be telling a fan what they claim she did, Cheryl had said in her book which was published before the GA reunion that after the reunion they were pretty much done, I think they have known about this for months. I doubt if this was sprung on her she would be posing happily with the other members hours later.
