Netflix - Sky care about data usage?
Red Arrow

We recently signed up to Netflix and unblock-us and have been using it all the time. We've been watching a lot of shows on it, in HD, on our PS3 or laptop. I would say probably about 2 hours a day during the week and at the weekend anything up to 8 hours.

We have Sky Unlimited, which I'm sure like all ISP's have a fair usage policy. With the amount of data we're using each day do you think Sky will care? Has anyone heard of Sky contacting users about using the likes of Netflix too much?

Actually, Sky Broadband Unlimited has *no* Fair Usage Policy, as well as no hard or soft limits, no traffic management or throttling, etc.

Use as much as you want...

Sky Broadband Unlimited & Fibre Unlimited packages have absolutely no restrictions in place. They really have no issue with people using services like Netflix heavily. When you think that Sky themselves have recently launched their Netflix equivalent NOW TV & are pushing Sky+ customers to use their new 'On Demand' services, its a good indication that Sky have prepared themselves for heavy streamers and if needs be will improve their network infrastructure to cope with the demand rather then put limits in place.

Enjoy using Netflix, no doubt many others will be doing the same thing this weekend with the weather conditions outside.

I wonder if sky are aware that some of the heaviest streamers on their broadband are actually using it to watch sky sports streams free, instead of getting sky sports.

I didn't think they would have an issue with customers using their own services, just others.

Id say this is correct as BT do the same thing.
When I had the 10mb package and if I had BT Vision then all on-demand content through their box is unlimited whereas other sources you ran the risk of getting a warning email if you went over.

No, it really is truly unlimited. Use it as much as you want.

Indeed. It's a selling point for Sky - truly unlimited broadband, rather than "no hard usage limits but you get restricted if you hit a certain amount" or "no usage limits but you get restricted for downloading during peak time" or "no usage limits but you get restricted for using P2P", etc.
