I would suggest that viewing figures are important for all production companies and their distributors and even more important to their sponsors and advertisers .....

I would also suggest that the costs of production are far from minimal and have to be recouped from somewhere ..... again, no company is going to write off hundreds of thousands of pounds (Jade alone is costing £30k) .....

Does anyone have any idea what the viewing figures actually are? I've been looking out for them, but have seen nothing.

I do notice that there are loads of adverts though - both on E4 and the C4 shows. So that must be bringing in some dosh.

I don't suppose that C4 will decide whether or not it's been a success until the final show - the Panto - is run. Then they'll be able to get an idea of the total cost/benefit.

I like it personally, and hope they do it again.

And it definitely warrants a live feed next time.

They should forget Celeb BB - the "celebs" so far named are total crap - and concentrate their resources on this. It's loads better IMO.

I agree, with old housemates we (and the producers) know what to expect and therefore will be able to avoid any boring CBB2 rerun.

But, on the flipside of that, couldn't the producers have said the same thing after BB4, and decided not to do BB5 in case it was a borefest?

Anyway I have been watching but don't really see the point of it. It certainly hasn't caught the media or public imagination.

The interesting thing is that the conclusion to draw, whether one likes it or not, is that BB contestants are rather like Pot Noodles.

”

They are not Z listers theyare just BB Z listers.

BB A listes are Z listes

In oredr to get the BB A listers such as Brian, Jon tickle, Craig, Helen, Paul, Dan and Michelle and Stewart they would have had too pay them twice the amount they paid Jade.
The only reason thy go Nasty nick is because he is not getting the work any more.

Glad to see that the thread is still causing debate. It is interesting that I have watched the grand total of 10 mins and came to this conclusion that it was the biggest piece of rubbish yet thought up. As for paying Jade £30k I am amazed that anyone should pay someone with as little talent as herself that amount, she must be the most overrated "celeb" in history, nless you can think of someone more deserving.

Am I the only person quite enjoying the panto? I think it's hilarious - the majority of them are completely deluded and clutching onto their 15 minutes in the spotlight - I'm particularly enjoying the likes of Mel and Tim who swore BB ruined their lives - yet, there they are!

Surprised Marco didn't get an offer of a real panto though.

I, like the majority of regular posters on this forum, am a BB fanatic. Every summer for 10 weeks my life goes on hold for BB, a like minded friend holds a big BB launch party and I hold a BB final night party. I have dreaded the time when BB comes to an end, but I think with the Pantomime it is the beginning of the end. I watched the panto if I was in before Christmas, but didn't bother taping it. The moment it was announced Jade was definitely Cinderella I switched it off. Can't the producers see they are making exactly the same mistake as C5 with BTR? Before their are bleats of "but Jade won with 82% of the vote" - 82% of how many votes - voting? Jade had been promoted as Cinderella in all the ads - there was no way Endemol were going to allow Anouska to win the vote. The final straw came when Jeff (separate for publicity) Brazier turned up

Add to all this Samantha Fox, Victoria someone or other and Brigitte Nielsen are expected to be in CBB3, I don't think I will be watching much of that either.

Come BB6, C4 and Endemol are going to have to be totally outrageous to keep the viewers attention after BB5. The public forgave them for the bore that was BB4, I don't believe they will get two chances

yep i like it too! Victor and kitten are annoying me a bit even though i kinda liked them in bb5 but the rest are really entertaining even jade and narinder who i actually think can be quite funny!
Marco might have been offered a real panto and turned it down to appear on this i mean i think this is probably more fun that rehearsing for a real panto.
