Haven't seen many yet so just going off what I've read, and a lot can change in a month I think Silver Linings Project could become stronger and pose a threat to Lincoln but at the moment it doesn't. Will probably post another one closer to the time, along with who I want to win.

Argo won Best Film at the PGA's last night, which along with the Critic's Choice Awards and the Golden Globe's mean it has won all the significant Beat Film categories since the Oscar noms were announced.
The Best Picture winner at the PGA's has also won the Best Picture Oscar for the last five years. |

That said, the PGA did pick Driving Miss Daisy that year too. I just get the feeling that the Academy are not as interested in Argo as everybody else seems to be. |

And it has to be said, thus far Lincoln has done very little to earn it's status as oscar favourite (Day Lewis is running away with the acting awards, but otherwise it's not been doing much this awards season to date). I did feel when Affleck didn't get nominated for best director at the oscars that the chances of the filming winning had gone, but I think it's clear now Argo has a very good chance. |

I agree though that Lincoln hasn't really converted many of its nominations for best picture as yet. But then Crash won relatively little back in 2005 and we all know what happened once we got to the Oscars. |

The Oscars are so predictable, especially the acting categories.
Jessica Chastain, Anne Hathaway, Daniel Day Lewis will win for sure.

I genuinely don't understand why people think Quvenzhane Wallis is a shoe-in. I expect Chastain to take it. And if she doesn't, Lawrence. And if she doesn't,Watts. But not Wallis.

I think the SAGs tonight will decide who the race for Best Picture will be between, I think Silver Linings Playbook will win Best Cast, Best Actress and possibly Best Supporting Actor, making it Lincoln vs Silver Linings Playbook for Best Picture. I think a lot of people are underestimating SLP and Weinstein, I certainly think it has a better shot at winning than Argo. I don't think it should win*, but I think it's a strong possibility. *Having only seen it and Les Miserables so far. Haven't seen Argo yet, but out of all the nominees it's likely to be one I'll want to win. |

If Lawrence wins tonight, then I'd say the Oscar's hers (despite the fact that the SAG Award went to Viola Davis last year and the Oscar to Meryl). But yes, Hathaway and Day Lewis are shoe-ins in my opinion, I'd be shocked if either of them loses. |

Argo winning Best Ensemble over Silver Linings Playbook & Lincoln at tonight's Screen Actors Guild Awards is the strongest indication yet that it's the one to beat for Best Picture at the Oscars.
I can't help but wonder how much Ben Affleck being snubbed for Best Director in the Oscar noms is influencing these results. |
