It is confusing for vodafone customers i agree.
some context is this is not a freebie from vodafone. It exists to reduce the load on their network, it's much cheaper for them to buy bandwidth from BT openzone than to build it into their cell network. so an option would be to buy the full FON package from BT if they'll let them.
my problem though is not that i'm confused. it's part of my plan but it is not permissioned on my account. If you go into My Vodafone, on the website in the My Details section it should list BT Openzone WiFi as a service. and mine does not.
I've had this escalated to the actual team that does this kind of thing and from what i gather there are a lot of people in this position.
