Chocolate weetabix
Tt88

I first tried these a while back and loved them so we bought them every week. I noticed the last box we got had new and improved recipe written on the box. They looked paler and taste bland. They werent chocolately at all, just tasted like plain weetabix. I thought maybe it was a bad batch so we got another box when that one was empty and they are exactly the same!

Has anyone else been disappointed by new and improved recipes? Why do companies feel the need to improve products which are already great?

YES, Tesco's deep dish Pizza's, They used to so so so nice but they "Improved" the base, and now they taste horrible, I got one at the weekend out of curiosity and It still tasted horrible.. I even complained to Tesco about it, got a phone call from Tesco n'all but I doubt one complaint is enough for them to do revert back to the old delicious base..

The recipe is fairly basic, so it's unlikely they've made a change. It's wheat, a bit of sugar & salt, fortified with minerals & vitamins.
Quote:
“Wholegrain Wheat (95%), Malted Barley Extract, Sugar, Salt, Niacin, Iron, Riboflavin (B2), Thiamin (B1), Folic Acid.”

Since the product is almost entirely wheat, it's possible a slight colour change is just due to different wheat crops.

A lot of popular brands are now owned by Chinese companies. Weetabix being one of them. Whether that means, they're allowed to f**k about with the ingredients. God only knows. But I wouldn't be in the slightest bit surprised, if we're now eating a cheaper, or whatever, Chinese version of certain things.
