Janet Fielding (Tegan Jovanka)
Janet was diagnosed towards the end of last year with Cancer.....has anyone any news on how she is doing? Love Janet and had a sort of crush on Tegan when I was growing up!! Hope she is keeping well and on the mend. Any news would be gratefully received

She is still working and flitting from job to hospital which must be very tiring.

If you google her name you can see her work with Project Motorhouse on Planet Thanet.

Phew - I was fearing much worse upon entering this thread!

She was at the Doctor's convention over the weekend to raise money for her charity. She tweeted a great photo of her with Davison, McCoy, McGann, Colin Baker & Tennant.

Think she's waiting to hear if she is in remission from the cancer but seemed to be in great spirits at weekend, at the Five Doctors convention.

You'd have to ask the mods, but IMO the title is very sensibl. If someone has died, I expect an 'RIP' in the title. TBH I didnt read this thread straight away because I knew it would just be a question about Janet, and not a news post

Thankyou, you are ofcourse so right, when I was growing up, Tegan was there every week alongside the 5th Doctor, Nyssa and Turlough to give me something to look forward to every week for 20 or so weeks of the year. I think she'd appreciate her fans being there for her too, or at the very least knowing she is on our minds at this tough time.

We have recently lost Elizabeth Sladen, Caroline John and Mary Tamm to cancer...I feel sure Tegan's Brave Heart will see her through this.

I liked her though moody ,she was watchable axtulough was good too and sweet nyssa and so sad adric left though a bit silly at times, i meant teegan and hope janet gets better

I liked Janet Fielding as well, always enjoy watching Doctor Who on DVD featuring her character Tegan.

Sorry to hear that she has been struggling with her health recently, hope she is getting better though.
