EastEnders last achieved eight figures on Monday 2 January 2012, when Pat died (10.27m/36.6%). It also consolidated to over 11m. |

Well, there is that - but that had been promoted non-stop for months. I was thinking of something like The Town or Homefront. Mr Selfridge is a major title for ITV, it's the day-to-day drama they need to sort out.
Unless they've chopped fifteen minutes off Britain's Brightest - which wouldn't be a bad idea, it does drag - presumably they'll just whack Animal Antics at 6.15. |

Also that week - an Outnumbered repeat is prior to Mrs Brown on Monday at 9. Holiday Hit Squad is on Wednesday at 8. |

For me it doesn't make sense having shows like Downton Abbey and Mr Selfridge open and close with 90 minute episodes which at little extra cost could easily be expanded to two 60 minute episodes, filling the schedule for an extra couple of weeks. |

![]() EDIT: so it's a repeat of Pointless Celebs (or just ordinary Pointless? Digiguide not clear). Will do far better than what it replaced, and provide a better lead-in for B's B. |

This for 2nd February? Well, Secret Service was only meant for six episodes. Maybe Hammond should really stick to Top Gear - although I don't see what was wrong with Total Wipeout. Maybe it would have been less pressure for them when it comes to ratings if they scheduled it no later than 5pm on a Saturday. |

The replacement will be billed in advance, so as far as most viewers are concerned, Secret Service and Animal Antics have finished, and it's certainly their prerogative to rearrange their schedule if it's not working. Interesting that Britain's Brightest actually gets shorter as it goes on. Not really sure they needed the extra fifteen minutes. |

Channel 4 and BBC3 should see a good night demographically tonight - as BBC 1&2 and ITV seem to be battling for the retired viewership, looking at their offerings. I doubt Body of Proof on 5 skews young either.

Animal Antics might reappear appear after the 6 Nations matches in its 5.30 slot, but Secret Service's final episodes will I guess be on Saturday or Sunday afternoons.
I guess the final straw were the AI figures. Definitely no second series for that then. |

Then again as you said, it provides a very good opportunity to "lose" them, and perhaps burn them off in the summer. |

The 2nd Feb edition of Britains Brightest is the play off between the runners up of each show. Therefore the contestants have already been introduced.

Animal Antics will probably be scheduled as was always intended taking weeks off when the rugby is on. The British Public has got its way. We already told TV bosses that we were tired of hidden camera programmes last autumn when we didn't watch or particularly like ITV's Fool Britannia. |

ITV have ridiculously stuck on a WWTBAM repeat right now, and it's the same next week.

Why didn't they just air the NTAs between 7.30pm-10pm tonight? OK, I know they're live, but I'm sure they could have booked the hall a night earlier. Added to that, it means Emmerdale will be hit by a clash and Coronation Street has moved to 7pm - and ITV didn't even bother to promote it after Emmerdale tonight. Considering it's running on from yesterday you'd think they'd push it more.
