Wonder what will replace it? I guess it'll be films for now and then CSI returns in March.

So Dallas is on the move on Channel 5. @RadioTimes: Under-performing Dallas moved to late-night slot on Channel 5 http://t.co/VOOzOCDo
Love Patrick Duffy's optimism about 'however many years' Dallas goes on for....Ummm if it makes another one it will only be in a parallel universe where the first two series were all a dream and the viewing figures never declined.

I say this ironically as I love the revival. It deserves better but unless they rewrite this series fast and have alien spaceships invade South Fork it's just ebbing away.

Apparently Dancing on Ice is down this year because it's been "overshadowed by Splash."
Solution is obvious - combine the shows. Get them to skate across the ice as it slowly melts when flame throwers are blasted at it then get the contenstants to do a splash dive into the resulting pool. Splashing in Slush - the latest ratings winning export.

Gladiators Ratings (Sky1)

Series 1 (2008)
Episode 1: 1,564,000
Episode 2: 1,257,000
Episode 3: 935k
Episode 4: 844k
Episode 5: 588k
Episode 6: 734k
Episode 7: 671k
Episode 8: 656k
Episode 9: 643k
Episode 10: 349k
Episode 11: 558k
Episode 12: 479k
Episode 13: 628k
Episode 14: 740k
Episode 15: 511k
Episode 16: 702k
Return of the Gladiators: 1,159,000

Series 2 (2009)
Episode 1: 748k
Episode 2: 621k
Episode 3: n/a
Episode 4: n/a
Episode 5: n/a
Episode 6: n/a
Episode 7: 548k
Episode 8: 605k
Episode 9: n/a
Episode 10: n/a
Episode 11: n/a
Episode 12: n/a

All ratings are official consolidated ratings.

Episodes with an n/a means the episode didn't make the Sky1 Top 10.

Series 1 held up OK but was very up and down as you can see. Series 2 hardly ever made the Sky1 Top 10 but alot would be under/around 500k. Hope that helps.
Thank you. So it was clear that the originals coming back really boosted the end of the first series. They returned twice more in the 2nd series too for 2 episodes, I'm sure they would have made the Top 10, as I am sure there were more than 12 episodes in the 2nd series. Pretty clear that people were more interested when the legends returned judging by the ratings.

Hmmm I'm not so sure he's alone in pushing an agenda there...
Let's face it, nearly everyone's pushing an agenda. There's plenty in this thread.

Good rating for Mary Berry. I bet Itv will be offering her a lot of cash to try and sign her up for their copycat daytime version they have coming up...

Dallas just didnt connect with the public on either side of the atlantic. Its not a bad show, I like it from the episodes Id seen so far, but maybe its just one of those shows which was great in its time but now revamping it doesnt work for the current generation.

I think Dallas instead of being moved to a ridiculous 11pm timeslot, which is bound to cut viewers down further, should be moved to Channel 5's digital channel, 5*, I think it could work really well there. If it achieved the figures it is acheiving on Channel 5 now, 5* would be bound to score viewing figures of 400,000 - 800,000.

A shame their moving it to an 11pm slot. It will must certainly die in that slot. I would have preferred an 8 or 10pm slot but from the first two weeks figures it appears C5 have lost all confidence in it already.
Still nowhere near as bad as the Grey Anatomy 4.15AM slot.

It's cringeworthy, isn't it?

Especially The Posts That Are Written Like This For Some Bizarre Reason OR EVEN LIKE THIS.

Whilst I obviously don't subscribe to the idea that ITV is in crisis, I do find some of the excuses being made for its underperforming shows amusing. Apparently Dancing on Ice is down this year because it's been "overshadowed by Splash."
Oh I think I need to go and read the thread if the posts are that hilarious.

Last year they were holding press launches with cast and promoting it as their new big show. Why they don't just move it to the less busy than 9, but less graveyard than 11, 10pm slot or just persevere with it at 9 then repeat the hell out of it on 5* to recoup any losses I don't know.

When EE gets the headstart, Emmerdale drops to 4m........
Yeah, Emmerdale falls to pieces when it starts halfway through EastEnders.

The shows clearly share a significant number of viewers, but EastEnders is the more resilient of the two.

Channel 5 need to do something. They can't just wait for BB/CBB and the odd DIY show to help it's ratings. Looks like Channel4 have a current hit with The Undateables which managed over 3m incl +1. Channel 5 need to think of something up quick.

What are ITV going to do about The Cube? They could pit it after BGT in the spring - after all the ratings have been falling.

The problem with Dallas is with its main star sadly dead, people aren't interested in the supporting cast and since most people probably haven't watched Dallas since Thatcher was last in power( that's how long ago it is), the show isn't that much of a draw. Fair does it attracted the curiosity vote for the last series, but this one is dying away as there's little reason to watch a series where the main character is dead and the others you only vaguely remember.
Maybe Dallas would have worked as a mini series with a cliffhanger ending, but not two full series.
