We've already discussed it.. but you want to highlight the high prices again in another new post. Old news. Fail to respond to the other networks even stating they will charge Premium prices themselves.. you are one sided not me.

You also fail ONCE AGAIN to even address the factual points put to you in counter argument to your EE is set to be a 'monumental disaster' comment. What a joke.

4G has no chance of gaining customer support with the pricing EE has applied.

Average mobile customers simply wont pay the kind of premiium EE have set to get the raw speed offered on a mobile device. It simply is not necessary, 3G with HSPA+ can deliver similar performance without paying the huge premuim EE seek. EE have got it badly wrong and have no unique selling point to justify their expensive 4G traiffs.

3, Vodafone and O2 have yet to launch 4G LTE but perhaps when they do they will have some new customer propositions to justify a premuim price for 4G.

EE is speed only jsutification, high priced with their head in the sand forced to retreat already with lowered prices. EE are the joke.

The public are not convinced about the need for 4G despite EE's expensive advertising campaign..... that is why they have been forced to reduce prices so soon and why they have blown their head start with their short term greed mentality.

It's justifified to highlight the rip-off that is EE4GEE....

They have themselves to blame for their greed.

And they are now in retreat, not fast enough and still selling ridiculous propositions but I expect their lack of success will further revise their proposition before the market forces them to with new entrants in Summer.

In light of todays revision anyone thinking about EE as an option should perhaps think about waiting until they sharpen their pencil further.

Good enough for most mobile applications. Faster is better of course but perhaps only if you intend to terminate your fixed line. That could be an option but only if the price and the data limits suit your needs, which with EE's proposition on 4G look very unlikely.

So who is their 4G offering designed to appeal to?

A small number who want to pay a big premium to stream on the commute to work in the south east of England with lots of money to burn?

That's still fast enough for nearly everything tbh. Ping is really good for 3g

And 3.9Mbps is good enough for HD Streaming on the BBC iPlayer or YouTube.

So why pay over the odds for EE 4G?

I get at least 3Mbps from all the mobile networks in my area, so they can all deliver HD streaming on demand on 3G networks.

To your question.. Me.. And my colleagues. We are uploading raw images and and video all day long. We used to have edit the stills down and the video into sections to upload them or wait till we got back to the office. Now we just upload on the move.. Unedited. All day.

We are no longer restrained to our company or clients offices.

But 3 on the screenshot uploaded provide nearly 2Mbps upload. Thats more than double the speed a fixed line ADSL line provides and more than necessary for still image uploads of even large resolution files.

Video is a bit different as it needs much more bandwidth so most would normally be sent using cable or high capacity networks. I can understand there may be a niche market for video upload using 4G but it is a very small market and perhaps those involved might pay a huge premium for the service but EE don't have the coverage to make that a realistic proposition presently so its a very limited prospect.

The type of usage detailed above is not going to justify the investment EE have made as it would only appeal to a tiny minority of specialist users.

It's a 4G enabled site... The EE 3G and Three pings seem to be really good when it's not busy. because of it that. Not sure why though as the backhaul is surely the same as non 4G upgraded MBNL sites.

MBNL sites only share radio access, backhaul and communication with the parent networks are entirely separate.

Ayway, back on topic, why would you pay £76 a month for a smartphone with 20GB a month of data?

As above that's still fast enough for everything on a mobile anyway, but anything extra is a bonus.

And p.s go and put your phone on charge NOW! Haha

Today I uploaded 300ish 22MP still images.. RAW a couple of gigs. Before on 3G I would have to edit them down to small jpegs (plus not send as many) to act as fillers till I get back to the office (which i dont need to now, other than for meetings) with the RAW and edit them in the office, probably get distracted by other things whilst there. Now I set to upload all and move on to the next job. Someone else deals with the files as they come in. Saves me time and more gets done. Exactally what EE have been advertising on the business side. This is all on the 4G Mifi paid for by the company. I also have a 4GEE iPhone partially paid for by them (international calls, roaming etc)

As for video 20mbps upload on EE is great for that as its as fast or even faster than most Virgin Media or BT fibre connections. Not quite the crazy speeds I get at work

This we know. My point was on 4G sites Three and EE 3G latency is also very low (lower than the usual low latency they get). Something must be different at these sites..

Looks like early adopters have been shafted and will see no reduction in the price they signed up for last year for 4G. What a surprise! Caveat emptor

Plus it still poor value for money even with price cuts

Absolutely splendid..... but that type of usage is not going to be a breadwinner for EE. It's very specialist and they need mass market uptake, hense the price reduction today and the increase in data allowances. Shame on EE that those who supported them will not be able to take advantage of the reduced prices announced. That should be a warning to anyone tempted to get involved with them at their newly reduced rip off 4G rates.

Also fine if you are in the small area of the UK that has EE 4G! Most places don't have it and won't get it for some time so for photoraphers that need to cover events across the country 4G is not a relaistic option even at a premium price.
